Historia
Hard times come for all in life, with no real explanation. When we walk through suffering, it has the potential to devastate and destroy, or to be the gateway to gratitude and joy. Elisabeth Elliot was no stranger to suffering. Her first husband, Jim, was murdered by the Waoroni people in Ecuador moments after he arrived in hopes of sharing the gospel. Her second husband was lost to cancer. Yet, it was in her deepest suffering that she learned the deepest lessons about God.

Historia
Standing in the massive shadow of his famous father, young king Solomon wavers between fear and bravado, wisdom and folly. In the uncertain world of alliances and treachery, Solomon longs for peace and a love that is true and pure - a love that can be his cornerstone. A shepherdess in the northern city of Shunem, Arielah remembers the first time she laid eyes on Solomon in Jerusalem when she was just seven years old. Since then she has known that it was her destiny to become his bride.

A Hallmark Movie in a Book
Revisado: 05-19-20
I struggled with the leaps this books took at times. Such as when Solomon, a wise man, promises to sleep with only one women. A man of his training and wisdom, with many wives already, would have known better. Historical accuracy is iffy. The narrator remains just as stiff as she is in the sample. I very much enjoyed the author's book based on Daniel, so I was a little disappointed on this one, but it's an easy listen if you just need entertainment.

Historia
Crafted by two masters of inspirational fiction - Janette Oke and T. Davis Bunn - and combining the engaging historical settings, rich characterization, and heartwarming messages quintessential to both authors, The Meeting Place is another timeless story for you to cherish. Set along the rugged coastline of 18th century Canada in what was then called Acadia (now Nova Scotia and New Brunswick), The Meeting Place re-creates a world that was home to native Indians, French settlers, and English garrisons.

Missing chapters/sections!
Revisado: 12-30-17
This is a book I have read several times, so I know the story well. I was disappointed with this recording because several scenes were missing, and the entire section (chapter?) when Catherine and Louise discover they are expecting is completely omitted.

Historia
Little Women itself “has been read as a romance or as a quest, or both. It has been read as a family drama that validates virtue over wealth.” Little Women has been read “as a means of escaping that life by women who knew its gender constraints only too well.” Alcott “combines many conventions of the sentimental novel with crucial ingredients of Romantic children's fiction, creating a new form of which Little Women is a unique model.”

Good narrator, poor editing
Revisado: 12-10-17
I enjoyed this narrator and it does include all four books.
Unfortunately, the quality of editing deteriorated and by the last book, there are many repeated sentences and unpleasant clicks.
