Historia
When Lord Petrefact hires Walden Yapp, Professor of Demotic Historiography at Kloone University, to write a scurrilous family history Yapp finds plenty of material in Buscott village, where Frederick Petrefact is running the Mill and adding new vices to the family collection. If Yapp can lay his hands on the Petrefact Papers in the Buscott Museum he may be able to expose the multi-national capitalism of the Petrefacts to the whole world.

I am a huge fan of Tom Sharpe and to me this is his absolute best. It is true that the story has a quick ending (maybe Tom ran out of time) but none of his books gives complete closure. Also Griff Rhys Jones is just fantastic.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Historia
Iron Man chronicles the story of both pioneering guitarist Tony Iommi and legendary band Black Sabbath, dubbed "The Beatles of heavy metal" by Rolling Stone. Iron Man reveals the man behind the icon yet still captures Iommi's humor, intelligence, and warmth. He speaks honestly and unflinchingly about his rough-and-tumble childhood, the accident that almost ended his career, his failed marriages, personal tragedies, battles with addiction, bandmates, famous friends, newfound daughter, and the ups and downs of his life as an artist.

If you like Black Sabbath, you will love this book. Although at times you will question if it is fact or fiction. Bev Bevan is ok as the narrator but I prefer him to play drums.

Dissatisfied
Revisado: 12-20-16
Would you try another book from Mick Fleetwood and/or Martin Dew?
If you looking to hear about how all those great tunes came into being, sadly the books doesn't deliver. Also Martin's reading becomes boring after a while.

A killing audio-book
Revisado: 06-17-10
R.D.Wingfield wrote for any years radio-dramas for the BBC Radio and every play is worth listening too. Stephen Thorne won my heart (years ago) when I listened to him reading "The river-god". Putting Wingfield and Thorne together is a total winner. This is probable my number one audio-book of all times. Hoping for more.
