way too "cozy" from my taste. I am debating the possibility of not bothering to finish this series. something I originally said I would never do. I can tell I'm supposed to have a gushy heartwarmed feeling , but the whole thing just fell flat. you can tell the author is just pushing the books out for the cash, her hearts not in it either.

Weak at best

Quite predictable really. One wonders if all the good stories have already been told.
And they lived happily ever after.
Yawn.

A. bit slow

I am afraid this book was on the boring side. I was constantly having to back up and reread as it kept putting me to sleep. I did finish the book but it took longer than expected

One of the best war stories ever.
Revisado: 08-12-22
I have read a number of war stories from world war II and this has to be one of the best yet. although it is a sad story, it is one of incredible bravery and determination. The only thing that would have made it a better book would have been a better outcome, but in war that can't always be the case.

D-Day is approaching. They don’t know where or when, but the Germans know it’ll be soon, and for Felicity "Flick" Clariet, the stakes have never been higher. A senior agent in the ranks of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) responsible for sabotage, Flick has survived to become one of Britain’s most effective operatives in Northern France. She knows that the Germans’ ability to thwart the Allied attack depends upon their lines of communications, and in the days before the invasion, no target is of greater strategic importance than the largest telephone exchange in Europe.

Can you imagine writing to Father Christmas and actually getting a reply? Every year, the children of J.R.R. Tolkien would write to Father Christmas, and the letters they received told wonderful stories of his adventures at the North Pole. These humorous tales are brought to life by Derek Jacobi as Father Christmas, John Moffatt as Polar Bear, and Christian Rodska as Ilbereth the Elf, complete with specially composed music.

Excellent!
Revisado: 06-09-22
Tolkien is a delight to read. He has an incredible imagination.
Derek Jacobi was a great match as narrator. He provides the perfect voice for all the characters. I have yet to find any works off his that fail to delight
Great read for all children ages 5 to 99! It is likely too long to hold the attention of children much younger than that. But my being almost as old as the main character, may not qualify me as the best judge of that. The old brain box is going the way of my dicky ticker.
