Historia
Rachel's parents have a simple rule: five hours of sleep. No more, no less. But after six months of this "simple" schedule, Rachel's exhausted mind plays tricks on her. She sees things that can't be real. Like the Boogeyman in her little brother's room. When no one believes her, Rachel takes matters into her own hands. But her sleep-deprived state blurs the line between reality and nightmare. Is the grotesque figure with too many teeth just a hallucination? Or is there something sinister lurking in the shadows?

Another Fun Installment!
Revisado: 10-04-24
I Found the Boogeyman Under My Brother's Crib by Ben Farthing is yet another fun addition to the I Found series, showcasing the author’s knack for creating imaginative and engaging narratives that explore childhood fears. This installment offers a fresh perspective on a typical childhood monster.
What I love most about the I Found series is its ability to present stories that feel unique while maintaining a cohesive thread that connects them all. Farthing has an impressive talent for crafting distinct narratives that explore different aspects of fear and imagination. In this latest book, he takes the concept of the boogeyman and adds layers of depth that make it both relatable and intriguing.
The story expertly captures the essence of childhood anxieties, and I appreciated how it plays with the idea of what lurks beneath a child’s crib. Farthing's portrayal of the boogeyman is clever, allowing readers to engage with this childhood monster in a new light.
While I thoroughly enjoyed the narrative, I did find some of the character motivations to be a bit bizarre. However, this minor issue did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the story. The charm and creativity of Farthing’s writing shine through, and I was captivated by the unfolding events and the unique perspective on a familiar theme. I can’t wait to see what Farthing “finds” in his next story!

Historia
Lisa finds her senile old coworker, Saswin, lost in an abandoned mall hallway. He's talking to a circle of mannequins, their limbs twisted and fused in unnatural ways. When Lisa looks away, she swears the mannequins have moved, and that this abandoned hallway has grown longer. After Saswin disappears down the impossible hallway, Lisa goes to find him, but she’s unprepared for the horrors that await her in the mall's forgotten depths.

A Creepy Read
Revisado: 08-26-24
I Found a Lost Hallway in a Dying Mall by Ben Farthing is an exceptional entry in the I Found series, and stands out as my favorite installment so far. From the very beginning, the book immerses readers in a hauntingly atmospheric setting that sets the stage for a genuinely spooky experience. The combination of a dilapidated mall and the eerie presence of autonomous mannequins creates a chilling backdrop that keeps the tension high throughout.
Listening to the audiobook on Audible was a fantastic experience, thanks to the skillful narration that brought the main character's fear and desperation vividly to life. The narrator’s performance added an extra layer of depth to the story, making the unsettling moments even more impactful. Farthing’s writing, combined with this engaging narration, made for a truly engrossing read.
What I loved most about this book was the way it built a sense of dread and unease with every turn of the page. Farthing masterfully crafts an environment where the mundane becomes menacing, and the interplay between the eerie mall setting, the malevolent mannequins, and the revelation of what truly lies at the heart of the mall kept me on edge. The story’s progression is both suspenseful and intriguing and leaves a lasting impression.
