Historia
When a video of her calling happily ever after "a foolish fantasy" goes viral, marriage therapist Emma Castle is out of a job - and off to Scotland. The tiny town of Gandiegow is the perfect place to ride out the media storm and to catch up with her childhood friend, Claire. But also in Gandiegow is the one man she hoped never to see again. She's successfully avoided Gabriel MacGregor since Claire and Dominic's wedding, only to find that he's now the village doctor - and just as tall, dark, and devilish as ever.

Loved this sweet romance
Revisado: 01-10-24
I loved the book. While I prefer dual narration, I feel that the narrator did a wonderful job. This is my first book by this author and it won’t be my last. I recommend it!

Historia
For one bright, shining moment, Tybalt, King of Cats, had everything he had ever wanted. He was soon to set his crown aside; he had married the woman he loved; he was going to be a father. After centuries of searching for a family of his own, he had finally found a way to construct the life of his dreams, and was looking forward to a period of peace—or at least as much peace as is ever in the offing for the husband of a hero. Alas for Tybalt and his domestic aspirations, fate—and Titania—had other ideas.

Another amazing novel but a different narrator
Revisado: 12-03-23
This book was to from Tybalt’s point of view, which was brilliant since October had gone missing. It opens the door for other characters to get their own stories. I can’t wait to see what is in store for Toby and Tybalt when the baby is born. It took a bit to get used to the new narrator. I understand the reasoning for it, but it’s hard when you’re used to how Mary Robinette Kowal makes the characters sound, so you know who is speaking without being told. The new narrator did a good job, but their style is so different that it made it hard to tell who was speaking. Even though they did a very good job, it was still a bit jarring.

Historia
October is very happy with her life as the second daughter of her pureblood parents, Amandine and Simon Torquill. Born to be the changeling handmaid to her beloved sister August, she spends her days working in her family’s tower, serving as August’s companion, and waiting for the day when her sister sets up a household of her own. Everything is right in October’s Faerie. Everything is perfect. Everything is a lie.

Can’t wait for the next book!
Revisado: 10-03-23
I loved this book, even though it confused me at the start. I wondered if maybe this was a prequel or that I had accidentally downloaded the books out of order. Anyway, I trusted Seanan and she did not disappoint. I have loved every book in the series and can’t wait for book 18 to drop in just 3 weeks!! Mary Robinette Kowal was amazing as always. I can’t imagine anyone else narrating these novels! You won’t be disappointed.

Good story but needed a bit more
Revisado: 05-20-23
I liked the Lace Reader and was excited to find another book by this author. I enjoyed the book, but felt that it ended abruptly. The narrator was spot on. It’s not as good as her first book, but it is still definitely worth a credit.

I want more!
Revisado: 04-09-23
I picked this title up when it was on sale from audible. I was hooked. I listened to it almost non-stop for a few days. I am hooked! I want to know how the sea people survived and how the miners survived. I’m not ready for it to be over. The only thing that I found really jarring was the change in narrators for the final third of the book. I have listened to other books that were narrated by Mary Robinette Kowal and enjoyed them, but confess that I did have some trouble telling who was speaking.

Wonderful book with an amazing narrator
Revisado: 06-21-21
I just finished up this book and I loved it. The narrator did an amazing job. I loved his accent and his female voices didn’t annoy me. The story was a fun escape. It was predictable, but that is part of the charm of romances. I will definitely be listening and ready more from Emmanuelle de Maupassant. I did receive a free copy of this book, but the review is my own.

Quick cozy listen
Revisado: 04-04-20
This was a cute cozy mystery that was the perfect escape. It was clearly the beginning of a series and I can’t wait to read or listen to the next in the series. The narrator did an ok job but wasn’t one of my favorites. I didn’t like the stilted way that she spoke, especially when attempting to voice a male character. I received this audiobook for free, but the opinion in the review is mine.
