Historia
Filled with interviews of friends, family, and acquaintances as well as people who knew and grew up with Raymond Lee Washington. Don't look here for horrific stories of gang violence and crimes committed by gang members; that has been done before. If you are looking for a factual and intuitive look into what made Raymond Washington unique on the mean streets of Los Angeles, this book is for you. This book is filled with stories and eyewitness accounts of those who knew who the real founder of the Crips gang was.

Great Book, Great Narration, A Little Too Opinionated
Revisado: 04-29-24
I loved the book; the narration was incredible too. The only thing I think detracted from it was the author’s assertive opinions and gap-filling in terms of what did or did not happen. Usually this is fine, but he did try to pass it off as more authoritative and conclusive without any more backing than the alternative theories. I think Raymond Washington will never truly be known or understood, and that’s okay, but what’s not okay is substituting our assumptions for the unknown facts. Other than that, a good book.

Great book, iffy choice on the narrator
Revisado: 11-07-20
Well written book, but they definitely should have gotten a Black man to read this. The narrator did a good job otherwise.
