Astonishing tale with lots of surprising turns and twists!

Just loved this. So different from her other books, but with all the craft and background you would expect from Gilman. So unique and gripping and philosophical.... loved it from start to finish.

Historia
More than any other writer before or since, Louis L'Amour brought the American West to life. His action-packed stories deal with eternal themes: honor, deceit, passion, betrayal, loyalty, courage, love. His settings are historically accurate, his prose riveting, and his characters colorful: good guys, bad buys, toughs, roughs, sidekicks and saints.

I loved Willie's voice
Revisado: 10-10-24
I really enjoyed listening to stories that I love told by a voice that is so recognizable. Willie Nelson has a great voice for narrating. adding Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson was a nice touch.
Louis Lamour has a great talent for telling stories. I could listen to his stories all day long.

Creative, funny, sentimental!
Revisado: 01-27-24
Another fun read from Jacqueline Frost! I'll admit there were moments in this one when I kind of started to hate the main character and her puahiness.... 🙄 It was a bit over the top. But the creative, sentimental, fun ending really made up for it! Great characters and wonderful town development.

Arriving in Cairo for another thrilling excavation season, Amelia is relaxing in a well-earned bubble bath in her elegant hotel suite in Cairo when a man with a knife protruding from his back staggers into the bath chamber and utters a single word - "murder" - before collapsing on the tiled floor, dead. Among the few possessions he carried was a sheet of paper with Amelia's name and room number.

Wonderful final episode of a magnificent series!
Revisado: 11-26-22
Joan Hess did such a great job that at times I forgot it wasn't the voice of Elizabeth Peters herself! I loved the nods to the titles of all of the other books in the series. The storyline was complex and interesting and the characters were true to the originals.
Though some of the narrative did give itself away as not being Elizabeth Peters, it was usually because it was trying so hard to emulate her style. This was endearing and made me admire Joan Hess all the more. I'm so glad this project was undertaken. It was a wonderful final episode to a magnificent series.

Ramses and Amelia face down a criminal together!
Revisado: 11-13-22
I really enjoyed this one, and it was fun to go back and remember the teenage characters before they mature into full adults. I really liked the whole scene with Amelia and Ramses "out in the field" together. I loved how they helped and annoyed each other. 😅 I laughed aloud several times even though I was in a public airport... Just couldn't help myself.
