Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would. Especially my old teammates.

What did you like best about this story?

The way the players acted around each other years after. The way they remembered the good and the bad.

What about John Grisham’s performance did you like?

Nothing in particular, but he did a good job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and I did.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I was really excited about this book as I have always enjoyed the stories of Old Florida trying to recapture the feeling I first had when I finished "The Yearling". Being a Florida native I also try and learn as much as I can about my birth state so I can absorb the history and teach others.

I thought the stories were good and I really liked the parts about prohibition and just how far that movement spread.

The thing that bothered me though is the way it was pieced together. Instead of stories being told in a way you can enjoy them after just hearing them in automatically rolled into another, another, and another. So by the time I was 2/3rds through it I became desensitized in a way. I would have liked a moment to compartmentalize what I had heard before diving head first into another tale.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

How wild Florida was naturally and how man utilized it to survive.

Do you think Gladesmen: Gator Hunters, Moonshiners, and Skiffers needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I do not. I believe a good portion of what was told in this book was unecessary.

What did you love best about Si-cology 1?

I really enjoyed how the story was laid out for the listener. Unlike other books of this nature that drag on endlessly until a conclusion that is beyond lackluster, in his book you can almost see whats going to happen, but at the same time the outcome (which you may already know) is viewed in an entirely different light. I also liked how this wasn't just a make it rich quick sell it why it's hot type book. It also lays out how Si isn't a character fabricated by a grad school producer.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The obvious answer to most would be Si and he is high on my list, but his wife Christine sounds like an awesome woman who endured a lot physically, mentally, and emotionally. Her story was just as compelling in my ow opinion and the courage she showed in the face of adversity should be lesson for all.

Have you listened to any of Si Robertson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Well, I guess Duck Dynasty on TV would be the only other platform and this book is just as good.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and I did.

Any additional comments?

Take my word for it this book isn't about striking why the iron is hot. It's well written, well told, and well put together. Worth every cent jack!

If you could take any character from The Ocean at the End of the Lane out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Ursula Munkton because she was evil, but sounded hot.

If you could sum up The Postcard in three words, what would they be?

Fun, Light, and Suspenseful.

What other book might you compare The Postcard to and why?

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children based on interesting borderline on non-realistic characters. Any detective novel pre-1960 with a mix of scavenger hunt.

Which character – as performed by Lincoln Hoppe – was your favorite?

I really enjoyed listening to Dia's(sp) father. It was a very clear picture of who he was. I would have liked to have seen better character development for the love interest though, but for what the narrator was able to work with I thought he did well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I bought it on a Friday and I am typing this on a Monday.

Any additional comments?

I had just wrapped a heavier type novel so this was nice to listen to a story where the guesswork is framed in a way that simplicity is achieved in regards to the story. I enjoyed it very much, but I can see where reviews are there that this book is geared for teens. I am a born & raised Floridan; so I was able to picture things very clearly which added to my earlier comment about a simple framework.
