Historia
The serene and maternal Mrs. Ramsay, the tragic yet absurd Mr. Ramsay, and their children and assorted guests are on holiday on the Isle of Skye. From the seemingly trivial postponement of a visit to a nearby lighthouse, Woolf constructs a remarkable, moving examination of the complex tensions and allegiances of family life and the conflict between men and women.

Beautiful story
Revisado: 07-10-23
An incredibly touching book that is still relevant today. Facing mortality and moving forward through the loss.
I sampled several narrators and liked this one the best.

Historia
As one of the music world’s most iconic artists and the cofounder of the organizations ONE and (RED), Bono’s career has been written about extensively. But in Surrender, it’s Bono who picks up the pen, writing for the first time about his remarkable life and those he has shared it with. In his unique voice, Bono takes us from his early days growing up in Dublin, including the sudden loss of his mother when he was fourteen, to U2’s unlikely journey to become one of the world’s most influential rock bands, to his more than twenty years of activism.

Appreciation of opportunities

I loved hearing about Bono’s interesting life through his own voice. The deliverance was perfect, though, I had to pay attention to the movement through times. Additionally enjoyable, were the interactions with famous individuals and his stumblings dealing with them.

Historia
"I’m James Taylor and I’m a professional autobiographer", says the celebrated folk singer at the start of this tender audio memoir. Through decades of music by one of the best-selling musicians of all time, who created classics like "Fire and Rain" and "Carolina in My Mind", James Taylor has doled out his history in the poetry of his work. Taylor says his early life is, "the source of many of my songs", and Break Shot is a tour of his first 21 years in rich, new detail.

A well-woven narration of songs and life stories.
Revisado: 05-05-21
I listened to this while hiking in the North Carolina mountains. It was a perfect combination and one more reason to love James Taylor, for all his admitted flaws and hardships, that made his songs more personally relatable. His woven songs throughout his narration flowed. I have already listened to this twice and know that I will visit it again.
