At long last we’ve gotten William’s book! I’m glad we finally have his backstory, and I love how Gena tied it all together. I liked Sunny as his heroine, and thought she fit him perfectly! I wish there had been more scenes with the other Lords and Ladies, but hopefully future books will have more interactions with them! I also hope we get some stories with more of William’s...kind (trying to not be spoilery!)! It has definite spin-off potential. Overall a fantastic addition to the series!

This short story would have benefitted being a much longer, fleshed out novel. An unrealistic “love” story, combined with some outrageous sub-plots had me rolling my eyes in places. Too much happened too quickly for it to be remotely believable. The writing itself and the narration were fine, but I’m glad I didn’t spend a credit on this one!

Back to the original Ghostwalker feel!

I had gotten a bit put out over the last few Ghostwalker stories. The heroes were overbearing to the point of being verbally abusive, and it sickened me (I didn't even read Spider Game because several reviewers made similar complaints). The sex was gratuitous and unnecessary to the plot (and was borderline abusive IMO). I don't mind a steamy scene or two, but I don't want it taking up over 60% of the book.

After waiting a few days to read some of the reviews, I decided to give CF one more chance with Power Game. I'm glad I did! This has the feel of the earlier Ghostwalker stories. The hero is alpha, but not disgustingly so. The heroine kicks butt on her own, but also accepts help without being a doormat or railroaded.

I'm also glad at least one long-time storyline has ended. I feel like CF lets series go on too long, sometimes, without any real resolutions. I feel like at least one loose thread got snipped with this story.

Finally, while Jim Frangione did a fantastic job with the narration, I really missed Tom Stechschulte. He's the voice of the Ghostwalkers for me.

So, overall, I'm glad to say I can recommend this book to my fellow Ghostwalker fans. I feel like the series is back on track!

I wasn't sure how I felt about Turnip being the hero of his own story. Turns out, I absolutely adored him! He sort of bumbles and fumbles about, but he is so genuinely caring that one does not care. Arabella was a perfect match for him, overlooking his faults and accepting Turnip as is. In turn, Turnip overlooks status and class and loves Arabella for the spunky yet pragmatic woman she is.

Kate Reading is, as always, a fabulous narrator, easily transporting us to the time and place. We also get a visit from none other than Jane Austen herself, who is unassuming and witty. Eloise and Collin do not make an appearance in this story, due to the fact that it takes place between Crimson Rose and Night Jasmine. I missed them, but completely understand their absence. Mistletoe is a fantastic addition to the Pink Carnation series and a must read for any fan!

(My only complaint would be to the producers of the audiobook and not the book itself. A bit of the music from the beginning is inserted absolutely randomly throughout the book. I could almost understand if it happened only once or in between scene changes. But it happened at least half a dozen times and in completely bizarre places. One would think that a producer or editor would have noticed that.)

Wild Rain Audiolibro Por Christine Feehan arte de portada

Great book, so-so narration.

This is one of my favorite Christine Feehan novels. I'm not too crazy about the narrator, but she does an okay job. I agree with the previous review--Rio always seemed angry; there didn't seem to be a lot of difference in his emotions. I do highly recommend the book, though, if you like the shapeshifter/romance genre.
