The beginning was somewhat hard to grasp with all the different characters.
Less than 1/2 way trough, I got the cast and then it was inspiring.
I really loved it. It would make a good movie.

A mother’s love.

I have a grown daughter and although Jo’s history is so very different, the love that is expressed in this story is palpable and personal.
This is a book that has touched me deeply.
The narrator was superb, easy to understand and poignant without being overly dramatic.
I hope I can convince my own daughter to listen to it.
It’s truly a motherly love story!

Good plot, thick accent.

I enjoyed the story. The reader is a good actor but has a heavy accent for an American ear.
Nevertheless, I eventually adjusted to it and was able to stick with it.

The narration was excellent, the concept was interesting but brutal to listen to.
I can say that it upset me very much!
I’m not sure I can recommend it without a warning.

I am so impressed with the humanity of this story, so real and from the core.
What an exceptional man Trevor is and what a loving and strong woman raised him to become such a man!
Bravo! I will carry this book in my heart for a long time.

Yes. Luckily I had a hard cover copy, which I kept referring to. A lot is lost without seeing the photographs. Also, narrative was choppy.

Clear to listen to with that wonderful Boston inflection. He made the experience feel personal.
