This is going to be harsh but honest. 4/10
This book felt rushed. Not enough time spent on their relationship. It felt like we were being left out of the loop on a lot of details , like a TLDR summary. I get that she has a second book that gives us more detail (reading that book in paper was pulling teeth due to the lack of proper editing for grammar and flow) but the pace of the first book suffered if the only way to get all the details in a singular relationship is to read two books. It would be different if each book was in one of their perspectives. I really wanted to like the story and I do a little. The narrators were the only things I enjoyed. They gave life to the material with how engaging they are. The idea works. The writing didn’t do it justice.

I don’t love the formatting but I love the story.

I sent this straight to my brother and his best man. I loved this story and the voices are some of my favorites to listen to. I don’t love the formatting of it and it did kinda make me resistant to start it but listening to it I really enjoyed it.

This is exactly the ending they deserve

I really enjoyed the ending to these storylines. The way that the horsemen behave and everyone’s reactions make the humanity of the story more apparent. Thanatos is one of my favorite horsemen. He has the greatest conflict and it was so hard to hate him for it.

I really love her books. I love the reality she writes into her characters. This was beautifully written and the characters were so relatable. The flow got a little lost for me with about 4 hours left but I was able to keep going till it picked back up.

The “other” Gods made the flow better

No matter how many retellings I have read I always love to see where the messenger god stands in the story. He is one of my favorite gods but when I go to read something based on mythology it is always clear how much I am going to love the book by how they balance the appearance of other gods. If you try to tell a story without the other gods you risk loosing the audience. If you rely too heavy on them you loose the direction of the story.
This story was amazing and spent a good amount of time showing how the public view can be biased and it follows how so many stories make hades out to be the monster. He is in fact not a monster he is an inevitability. Part of the circle of life. I love that this story is timeless in a way. You can see the overlap with Ancient Greece and modern day but it is still believable.

Mad the book ended.

Wow for a cliff hanger that was more than something. I am so upset that the book is over. I can’t wait to read the third book. The way that we got to watch these characters develop from Ninth house to Hell bent is amazing. It kept me on my toes the whole ride.

I loved this book from start to finish. I began it in font and decided that I did not have enough time to read it that way at the rate I needed it. I love sawyer and Enzo so much they are both so strong willed and although I have many comments about the way he spoke to her I learned to forgive him.
I had my suspicions from the start and was pleasantly surprised when even if I was right it came with more of a twist.
I knew what I was getting into in a sense and it was so much more.

I have no words for how happy this little hour and a half story made me feel. It catches you in the moment and you forget where you are. I loved the characters and the voice actors did them all sorts of justice.

DNF for female narration not male narration

I could not finish this book. Meghan the female narrator made the story boring and uninteresting. She reads like she is lifeless and uninterested. The dialog is done okay. It has the inflection for most of it on point but if she reads the descriptions any more flat I would assume she was being forced to read a book she dislikes. I want to read the book so badly because the male Narrator kept the story enticing. If he had just read the whole thing it would have had no issue listening.

I am very negative toward this book, likely because the other books were already starting to loose me. I have been told the books are good by a friend who read them but by the time I made it here in the series the main characters started to get on my nerves. Overly possessive is not a personality. MMC bores me in the way he reacts. Very predictable. FMC is very self centered and lacks the spine I wanted her to have. His sister is written to be the mean girl who grows with her circumstances but her personality just flips like she is two different people. I might finish some other time but only because I hate to leave them undone.
