A very current story!
Revisado: 08-27-19
When I first started reading this book, I had very little knowledge of the current sad situation with drug and human traffickers and the plight of young girls, boys, women, and men who —through no fault of their own—sometimes find themselves caught up in this horrible web. This book weaves this needful info into a captivating, winding tale which has many unexpected twists and turns. It feels real as you’re listening to it; the narrator does an excellent job of speaking American English and then quickly transitioning to Spanish dialects or accents without being cheesy or disrespectful.
If you’re at all interested in the current topic of illegal immigration, or the horrible practice of human trafficking, this book is a must-read. It could be used in a high school literature study, but is also interesting enough for any adult to stay intrigued from beginning to end.

A Good Read for Everyone
Revisado: 08-22-19
Although I have read fictional accounts of an EMP strike before, this was the first book in this particular series that I have actually encountered. I enjoyed it for both the storyline and for the practical information it gives throughout the story. The narration is very good, as the narrator gives distinct voices to the various characters, but not in a cheesy, over-the-too way. Everyone should read this to to be prepared for something that may soon be coming to a neighborhood near you.
