Interesting story. Very repetitive

Interesting story, but the author repeated herself over and and over. The Narrator read slow. Worked better at 1.2x speed. Maybe this could have been a short story instead of a novel.

Hard to listen to

I am a big fan of the assassin theme novel and search for great stories in this genre. I was excited to see this series with decent reader ratings... but, I cannot finish book one. The narrator is difficult to listen to - to the point of distraction. I will be returning the book without finishing it. Her british accents are really challenging. All the brits sound like idiots. There are others that are described as having accents, including the main character (northern european accent) and many Israelis, - all who the narrator reads without an accent. Why not just do the whole book without accents? Would the book be much more enjoyable to just read it instead of acting out the brits only? Sorry Mr. Larsen, I an sure that you are a terrific author and I will try another of your books without the narration.

Well done Assassin Genre

Big fan of Greaney and Hurwitz and Wood. This one was of similar genre and caliber. If you like Gray Man or Orphan X try The Killing Room.

Interesting history

Complicated history with lots of characters. Told as history. Might have been better told from the point of view of one of the characters. Recommend this book for learning little known history from 1920s

Mick Herron’s best

The intrigue is super. Origin story is superb. So many twists and turns. Unbelievable how Herron knit it all together over 30 years.

Narration is some of the best in the industry.

Need more like this!

Wooden performance

Interesting story but too far from believable. I mostly spent time debating with myself when I would stop listening as the narrator is wooden to the point of distraction. Finally the book was done. I have enjoyed other books much more. I hate giving a poor review as I could not write a novel nor narrate one but some do it so much better than this pair.

Usually I avoid sci-fi. This book is excellent. A must read especially for those that are skeptical of sci-fi.

Choppy

Looking for a great Assassin as the Good Guy series. Listened to and liked Becoming Quinn. 4 stars on that one. Thought that I would tackle the Quinn series. Found Book 1 to be choppy. Lots of history that is expected to be known. Stopped about halfway through.

I like other Brett Battles book.

Could not put it down

Listened to the first 2 in this series and liked both. This one, number 3, is the best so far. Will continue on to number 4!
