It's not the worst thing I ever listened too but after 3 hours I couldn't stand much past that. It tries far too hard and the humor comes off as childish, like the Jim Carry Cat in The Hat movie

Slow Life but good story

The book is exactly as advertised. A slow life as a blacksmith with most of the focus on the day to day of the MC without an over reliance on small details.

The Narrator was new to me but did an exceptional job with only a few minor stumbles on word use. The range of voices are distinct and the female characters are convincingly done.

Very enjoyable as a relaxing listen while I worked.

More Lily

To be honest if you've made it this far into the series you know you're gonna enjoy this latest installment. Great continuation of character development with a payoff at the end a good number of you already suspected was coming. A wonderful listen.

Smiled the whole time

Absolutely fantastic, with more meaningful character development that has been building for several books. The interactions had me smile again and again throughout. If you made it this far, you will not regret adding book 6 to your collection at all.

Decent but... (mild spoiler)

Overall a decent story set in a fantasy world. MC has biases ingrained by the book the world seems believed from, however... she seems to blatantly and willfully cling to those biases through pretty much the entire book regardless of the mounting evidence the book wasn't the whole story, at one point refusing to act because she wasn't sure it was "her right" to change things despite her existence already doing so, drastically.

The MCs are both horrifically painful to listen too. Erin especially makes the entire book a massive eye roll. I only made it through to 10 hrs simply because I was at work and had nothing else to do. The stupid choices, constant whining and unbelievable "Don't kill Monsters!" angle kill the entire story.

You have 1 chance at a first impression, and after 10hrs this one is nearly rock bottom. Story is meaningless if your protagonist is just painful

Pretty good.

Addressing the main point of "bad narration" most of it is pretty good. The one problem we heard was the cadence of the mother character, and being the first female voice heard, can be jarring. The rest of the voices used fit in very well and are fitting to the tone and situation at hand.

The story was also great, a relaxed fantasy plot that avoided any doom and gloom world ending threat and felt much closer to a slice of life adventure story, a refreshing change. The main qualm there was the forced adult scene that really seemed to be there just for the sake of having an adult scene, but was short enough and didn't infringe too badly on the story plot

Overall ot was an enjoyable listen and was a great "read" to pass the time with.

Fantastically funny

As a listener of so many audible books due to work, I am often looking for something bright and funny. This book provided that and more while holding am entertaining plot.
