The author, Robert Greenberg proffered a brilliant display of his lexicon while warping and wefting articulate background of each of his chosen components, comprising his 30 greatest Orchestral Works. His lacuna swirls around his penchant to emphasize the detailed historical life and circumstances of each Composer, forsaking a concentration of artisan's rendition of composition. Please don't misunderstand me, Robert's illustration of the Authors', and the surrounding backdrop, circumstantial and critical events subsuming the Author, all served as important criteria to the entire story, however, the result was somewhat abysmal when it came to forfeiting the leviathan of music that you might be expecting. Robert prances around illustrating the gamut of his lexicon, with the synergistic combining of his massive knowledge regarding each Composer, adding in a sparse amount of the actual audible portions of the Author's works. This was sort of a let down for me. After listening to Robert, I came away with a little better understanding of a Sonata, a Scherzo, and a Rondo, along with a few other musical references. Overall, he's a very good speaker with an enormous dictionary of thoughts, ideas and history of all of his Authors'. I did enjoy his palaver and style, hoping that his next rendition includes more of the actual orchestral music.

It was a pleasure listening to him. You will learn much about the Authors' themselves, if you choose to get Robert's 30 Greatest Orchestral Works.

in many prior reviews, I've criticized the enunciation, the lack of introduction of sufficient new words, and the tendency of the speaker to roll one word into the back of the other. All of the above were addressed and disabused, making for an suspiciously fruitful learning experience.

A novel idea; how about telling the student that we're working on the following verbs today and their respective conjugations for preterito perfecto and futuro. Then tell the verb and the sentence that's being constructed. With that the orators could pronounce the words clearly, even telling why and when you use words like estoy and soy, and try not to drop back to guttural speech they learned growing up. In these first 5 chapters, you have to incisively ascertain which verb, which tense, and the terrible way they run words up onto the back of the next word, having absolutely no explanation of what words are being said. For example, they might say, hace but it could be asi, and so on. This all puts a damper on clear, concise, sentence building.

On the plus side, my language skills are growing by using these recordings.

I liked what I learned but verb conjugations should have been emphasized earlier and more often.

I'm loving it but it's far more work than expected. I think that the narrator should spell new words, tell which conjugation tense is being used, even go through the tenses in sequential order, using each tense in a sentence.
Other than poor enunciation at times, I'm beginning to hear the words throughout the sentences, although the sentences could be spoken slowly, then a little faster, ending with actual speed that sentences might be spoken in a typical conversation. Fun learning experience.

Enunciation still needs clear separation of words, for spelling, usage, tenses, and increasing fluency and speed.

The story is good but could use improvement. The enunciation has improved remarkably. I'm taking away more Spanish in each outing. Word recognition is growing rapidly and the enjoyment factor is becoming geometric versus arithmetic at the outset. I find myself looking forward to hearing every new chapter. Most nights during lucubration hours, it takes me about 1 and 1/2 hours to listen and repeat, as well as to look up new words and experientially assemble new sentences to practice word improvisation with alternate syntaxes. Overall, it's been a rich experience

I'm finding it easier in each lesson to discern wording. However, there still exists a strong tendency to blur the sentence makeup because the speakers do their best to speed their recital of sentences, probably to prepare you for common speech amongst Mexicans. Personally, speaking the sentence more slowly with proper enunciation and separation between words, and then high balling through the sentence at Mexican speaking peoples speed would enhance results. Further, spelling new words would foster more depth of understanding and facilitate dictionary lookup. Lastly, the narrative changes verbs a little too fast to get comfortable through repetition in usage, and comfortable in experiential structuring of sentences in times between sessions and in situational usage. The story line could benefit by wider ranging of subject matter used in everyday life, such as naming days, months, years, seasons, etc.

The two Mexicano speakers are new throughout the 5 chapters. The enunciation improved dramatically. So for the preponderance of the presentation of the material, the narrators didn't roll as many words onto the backs of the following words. The ability to assimilate the material became appreciatively easier and more enjoyable. It was a pleasure to study the first 5 chapters of Pimsleur's Spanish 4. I look forward to jumping into chapter's 6-10.
I'm amazed at how much I've learned from the Pimsleur Lessons, although I do resort to a dictionary for new words to ensure that the words stored in my long term memory are registered accurately. It's seems like a long road, but these new changes make the road much smoother.
Buena Suerte!

Initially, I was unable to download the pdf holding additional words, word spellings, and sentence structure. I was able to download until towards the end of the last few chapters. That is deleterious to learning as you go.

Mexican pronunciation rolls smaller words into larger words as if they are one, or that they don't exist, such as de, hay, un/una and so on. Since new learners speak and hear slower, it is critical that words are enunciated and spoken deliberately to enhance our growth in building sentences, and understanding syntax, melded with diction. On a positive note, the lessons have enlarged my speaking and writing capabilities.
