Historia
This richly detailed book exposes the consequences of Big Tech’s digital surveillance, exploitative use of AI, and monopolistic and anticompetitive practices. It offers actionable solutions to these problems and a clear path forward for individuals and policymakers to advocate for change. By containing the excesses of Big Tech, we will ensure our civil rights are respected and preserved, our economy is competitive, and our democracy is protected.

Alarming look at a massive runaway train
Revisado: 09-30-23
Compelling look at the privacy and data rights landscape, both in terms of policy and practice. Tom makes a phenomenal case, moreso a series of cases, for a modernized approach to reigning in the wildly unchecked and exponentially growing power of today's tech monopolies. Narration put me to sleep, but the stories and examples are jaw-dropping. A great read for those who enjoyed "Everybody Lies" from 2017.

Humorous, surprising, and informative, Dr. Peterson tells us why skateboarding boys and girls must be left alone, what terrible fate awaits those who criticize too easily, and why you should always pet a cat when you meet one on the street.

Good advice; bit wordy/biblical, still applicable
Revisado: 08-14-19
Plenty of deep, thoughtful ideas to warrant a re-listen for several chapters, a bit snooze-inducing at times. Had a few good laughs, a lump in the throat here & there. Tends to veer into Judeo-Christian philosophy at length in a few places. Enjoy with an open mind, and read some negative reviews to make your own decisions.

A book that will stick with you for ages
Revisado: 07-10-19
This book tied together so many things in life and work that my head is spinning. Going to re-read/re-listen right away. It's a slam-dunk if your office has a book club, if not it's an amazing book to launch one.

Historia
She Has Her Mother's Laugh presents a profoundly original perspective on what we pass along from generation to generation. Charles Darwin played a crucial part in turning heredity into a scientific question, and yet he failed spectacularly to answer it. The birth of genetics in the early 1900s seemed to do precisely that. Gradually, people translated their old notions about heredity into a language of genes. We need a new definition of what heredity is and, through Carl Zimmer's lucid exposition and storytelling, this resounding tour de force delivers it.

Great listen, storytelling structure
Revisado: 10-25-18
This book is a fantastic survey on the history of inheritance as a concept, from the microbes that possibly breathed life into this Earth to the values and cultures we imprint on our children. Just bonkers! Honest, scathing at times, and intensely interesting. Read now.
