Once into the story I couldn’t put it down. Heartbreaking at times, but such endearing relationships and such strong people. Great to know that he went on to complete college & also is a published poet. I must read his poetry book now!

Really enjoyed hearing this author's journey. I have never liked alcohol, but I can relate to the ither addictions: shopping and eating. I started getting rid of clothes before I even finished reading!

So far, no. I love travel books but just couldnt find enough to keep me interested in this one.

Not sure I can finish it. I occasionally go back to it & listen for a short time, get bored, turn it off.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Mainly, the narrator. This was the worst narration I think I have ever heard. Really ridiculous.
What was most disappointing about M. Louisa Locke’s story?
the person who read it
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Her use of different inflections for the different characters just did not play out well at all. None of them was good.
Any additional comments?
I eventually was able to get interested enough to want to figure out whodunit. That is all that kept me with this book. I would never read any others by this author, and absolutely NEVER EVER listen to this narrator again.
