Historia
Jake is working at the neighborhood market under his apartment when the world ends. He expected nuclear war, a computer virus, or even climate change burning everyone to a crisp to bring about the downfall of civilization. But cruel and arbitrary gods from another world? Who would have guessed that? When these cruel gods shuffled Earth like a deck of cards, nothing was in the same place anymore. Monsters, dungeons, and magical items appear scattered across the globe. And suddenly, everyone has access to a new, strange magical card system that gives them magical powers.

A little uneven but overall Great Story
Revisado: 10-07-23
Main character starts out as the every man, no special abilities or knowledge but becomes special by the friends he makes and his attempt to stay faithful in what he believes is right not necessarily what others tell him is right. Over all the story is good, main character makes some questionable decisions along the way. Really hoping there is more stories and this becomes a series. Story is depressing at times but main character never gives up, and the scenarios they encounter do leave the reader wanting to know what going to happen. The audio book is very well acted an the voices are consistent. Thoroughly enjoyed the book, hoping for a series.

Historia
Joe’s candidacy was successful beyond his wildest dreams. Between driving the elves out of dwarven sovereign territory, utterly destroying an army of thousands, and using resources he could have used for himself to bring back the fallen on his own side...his reputation begins to precede him once more. The human was so successful that many people even within the dwarven faction have decided that they need to step forward to stop him. Realizing that he’s been in the public eye too long, Joe decides that it’s time to step out of fighting the war.

Love this series
Revisado: 08-08-22
Really like this series, wish the books came more often. Read the first is the series if you like Joe then you should like this one also. The voice actor does an excellent job of keeping the many voices straight through out the story. Hopefully many more episodes still to come.

Historia
This explosive new audiobook challenges many of the long-held assumptions about blacks, about Jews, about Germans and Nazis, about slavery, and about education. Plainly written, powerfully reasoned, and backed with a startling array of documented facts, Black Rednecks and White Liberals takes on the trendy intellectuals of our times as well as historic interpreters of American life.

Extremely Informative
Revisado: 05-22-21
Very good information with a few years separation from the current news cycle but trends covered lead right in to the current headlines from today’s headlines. Very good historical examples from around the world. Well written for readers/ listeners who are not economists but are average citizens trying to understand some of the forces shaping our world.

Historia
Economic Facts and Fallacies is designed for people who want to understand economic issues without getting bogged down in economic jargon, graphs, or political rhetoric. Writing in a lively manner that does not require any prior knowledge of economics, Thomas Sowell exposes some of the most popular fallacies about economic issues, including many that are widely disseminated in the media and by politicians.

Clear and comprehensive review of economic evidence
Revisado: 05-16-21
This book should be required for every high school course for any country wanting to produce competent and educated citizens. The concepts presented do not involve technical concepts of economic theory. The author explains how the data and understanding of common economic and social concerns can be understood by providing real world examples of why those understandings are valid. One thing this book does an excellent job on is providing examples how results from economic and social investigations are often miss represented by people and groups with a vested interest in a particular public belief even if the facts don’t support it. Examples are getting a little dated but the information and concepts presented are still valid and easy to understand as long as an open mind is used. I was thoroughly impressed by the number of social concerns in the world to day that can be explained by using the economic concepts in this book. This book could definitely provide useful life concepts and understanding to anyone who wants to learn and understand.

Nice Tie-In
Revisado: 11-25-20
Nice tie in to the Completionist Chronicles, provides good background and another point of view. Hopefully this will become another series to be continued. The voice actor is exceptional in the audible version, one of the few able to render believable male and female voices. Most voice actors do well with either male or female, few do well with both. Excellent story either read alone or as part of the larger series. The author does a very good job with all his series being consistent and feeding into each other to fill in pieces or to flesh out the world. The Divine Dungeon series and the Artorian Archives series are the past, where as Bibliomancer and the Completionist Chronicles are the present day. Hopefully this is book is not just character development like Rexus, both are excellent stand alone stories but would make great parallel series to the core. Excellent story, great world continuity, and an exceptional voice artist make this a good buy.

What it is to be a peace officer
Revisado: 08-27-20
Extremely informative, interesting details about what police learn while on the job, but more importantly what it is like to be a police officer and the different situations, attitudes, and choices a police officer must deal with. This isn’t a police manual but it does a very good job of revealing the decisions an officer must make while doing their job, and the realities an officer must face when they sign up to be a peace officer serving the public good, in a world with a lot of gray. Truely could change a persons opinion on how police function and the choices they have to make. After reading this book it would be hard not to respect the people who become police in the United States. A tough job with little respect, many agendas to watch out for, but if it wasn’t for the people who take this role, everyone would be much less safe and secure.

Well presented theory of national economies
Revisado: 08-04-20
A good theory of what makes national economies succeed or fail, supported by an impressive amount of historical research and examples. Worth a read just for the history it contains, examples of political and social structures from ancient Egypt to modern times, that are rarely mentioned in other histories, this was very informative and interesting. The audio artist was clear and well paced, so the book was presented like a series of lectures each with a specific topic the author was trying to convey. The effect was like listening to a well done college course on history and economics. Final summary was very thought provoking and raises questions regarding which direction the future economy of the world will be going. So many historical facts and so well written intend to reread and listen to it again, the reference maps and figures help greatly to understand the authors points. Excellent book and very well done.

Historia
The Indignities of Being a Woman candidly traces the history of womanhood and investigates how much things have really changed for womankind. By carefully x-raying areas such as body image, marriage, mental illness, fashion, and politics, this audiobook examines what it was like to be a woman in the past versus what it’s like now, when women are constantly told equality between the sexes exists but reality proves otherwise.

More snark and crudeness than comidity
Revisado: 03-10-20
One of my poorest selections I ever purchased, hoped that book would settle into a decent history of the treatment of woman and the achievements of woman through out the ages. Instead the book went on as a non stop rant of how woman have been degraded and abused by every man and woman that ever lived, without ever having a good thing happen to them or being treated fairly by anyone ever. If Fo-outrage at being a woman is your thing, that everything that ever happens to a woman is negative and abusive then this is a book for you. The humor was crude locker room jokes, and Internet troll remarks about successful woman in history. I made it through the entire book but had to sift through a lot of hateful crude comments and rants to find a few interesting historical facts. Truly can't recommend for anyone unless they want to be whiped into a blind hate filled rage over imagined injustices and slights by men and woman they never met, and imagined slights that only occurred in a self serving negative fantasy. If you believe the universe (all men and woman) hate you because you are a woman then this is the book for you.

Liked it another good addition
Revisado: 01-20-20
Story is good but could stand some fleashing out goes from encounter to the next, and one alien encounter to the next without much explanation of filler. The advanced aliens question more than the humans that just seem to accept one alien species after another with little questioning as to what is going on. A good rainy afternoon read or listen but no deep thoughts of glitzy technology. An interesting take on extremely benevolent aliens and lucky humans, worth the credit or purchase, but need to start at the beginning of the series, this is not a stand alone story.

Good continuation of the story
Revisado: 01-19-20
Good continuation of the story line, only complaint is sort short, I would have preferred more story back ground on the aliens. Sort of Star Trek universe, people meet aliens for the first time and no one is interested in finding out what they are like. All aliens just seem to be versions of people. But over all a good read and passable listen, a female voice actor to represent the female characters would help the Audible presentation.
