Awesome Narrator!
Revisado: 07-13-23
This was a good story with a great narrator. He gave each character a distinctive voice. It was cool getting to know the characters since I intend to continue the series.
The descriptions were sometimes very graphic so be ready for that.

Historia
In sports, everybody loves redemption stories, the underdog who no one believes in but through sheer hard work wins it all. But no one tells the stories of the players who work hard and don’t make it. In pro football, 53 guys get on the roster. Ten make it to the practice squad. And then there’s the 64th Man - that’s Billy Logan (Cena), who seems to always be one spot from glory.

Redemption!
Revisado: 12-30-22
This story made me a bit sad, but it was redeemed by the end. The voice performances were pretty good. The way the chapters were broken up reminded me of different episodes of a sitcom. There was humor throughout the story which made it less sad. I enjoyed it!

Historia
Life is hard enough for a teenage girl in 1950s suburbia without having a mother who may—or may not—be a witch. A single mother at that. Sure, she fits in with her starched dresses, string of pearls, and floral aprons. Then there are the hushed and mystical consultations with neighborhood women in distress. The unsavory, mysterious plants in the flower beds. The divined warning to steer clear of a boyfriend whose fate is certainly doomed.

Well done short story
Revisado: 12-29-22
This story was short and kind of sweet! Mothers daughter relationships can be difficult sometimes. This short story showed that the tough times can be overcome with perseverance and a but of understanding.

I enjoyed this!
Revisado: 11-02-22
I didn't know what to expect when I started this book. I was pleasantly surprised by how exciting the story line was. I figured this would be a boring courtroom driven book, but It was not and I'm glad. Some parts of story were realistic and others were not but this didn't take away from my enjoyment of the whole.

Revisado: 08-16-22
Samuel Hoenig is awesome! He is quirky and is not perfect, but that adds to the books appeal. I'll definitely continue the series. The cast of regulars is growing too. We have Janet Washburn the capable associate, along with Samuel's Mom. In this book the cab driver had a more prominent part which was very well written. The reader is very good!

Good reading performance but middling story
Revisado: 08-04-22
This book storyline was too tidy and wrapped up with a big red bow. This is my 1st book by Nora Roberts so I didn't know what to expect. Tidy, happily-ever-after books might be her style but it was just ok for me. I also didn't expect so much romance! The cat burglar parts of the story were enjoyable.

Historia
Nineteen-year-old Greg Sestero met Tommy Wiseau at an acting school in San Francisco. Wiseau's scenes were rivetingly wrong, yet Sestero, hypnotized by such uninhibited acting, thought, "I have to do a scene with this guy." That impulse changed both of their lives. The Disaster Artist is Greg Sestero's laugh-out-loud funny account of how Tommy Wiseau defied every law of artistry, business, and friendship to make "the Citizen Kane of bad movies" ( Entertainment Weekly), which is now an international phenomenon.

Funny and a bit sad
Revisado: 05-19-22
For the most part I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. The author did a good job of reading and doing Tommy's voice. Parts of the book are funny because of the absurd situations. Bit if I think too hard about Tommy's history I get sad.

Historia
During a superstorm, Holly Boswell receives a panicked call from her sister, Vivian: Come get me...There’s somebody coming. But when Holly arrives at a Long Island marina, there’s only her sister’s abandoned car. Vivian is gone. It’s all eerily familiar. Holly and Vivian used to play hide-and-seek as children. It was a reprieve from the mental abuses of their parents, psychology professors who raised the siblings as if it were research. Decades later, Holly is reminded of their childhood games.

Oliver Sacks' The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat tells the stories of individuals afflicted with fantastic perceptual and intellectual aberrations: patients who have lost their memories and with them the greater part of their pasts; who are no longer able to recognize people and common objects; who are stricken with violent tics and grimaces or who shout involuntary obscenities; whose limbs have become alien; who have been dismissed as retarded yet are gifted with uncanny artistic or mathematical talents.

This book had so much strange and fascinating information. Reading it made me remember the movie 50 First Dates and how the main character suffered from similar trauma as the patients in this book.
