Historia
Deborah Harkness’s sparkling debut, A Discovery of Witches, has brought her into the spotlight and galvanized fans around the world. In this tale of passion and obsession, Diana Bishop, a young scholar and a descendant of witches, discovers a long-lost and enchanted alchemical manuscript, Ashmole 782, deep in Oxford's Bodleian Library. Its reappearance summons a fantastical underworld, which she navigates with her leading man, vampire geneticist Matthew Clairmont.

Romance, Science and Fantasy in one
Revisado: 04-15-11
Science Fiction or Fantasy? Who cares - it was a very good listen. A competent plot, enjoyable characters, and amazing scientific questions about what it means to be ... human. Or not.

Historia
Mr Stink stank. He also stunk. And if it was correct English to say he stinked, then he stinked as well.... Chloe sees Mr Stink every day, but she’s never spoken to him - which isn’t surprising, because he’s a tramp and he stinks. But there’s more to Mr Stink than meets the eye (or nose), and before she knows it, Chloe has an unusual new friend hiding in her garden shed.

A very aromatic comedy drama
Revisado: 04-15-11
My 7-year old son loves this story. (We're only about halfway through, because we only listen to it when we're in the car for longish time periods.) The reader/narrator's vast array of British accents for the various characters are cartoonish when they need to be, but sincere and honestly human when required. Just like a good comedy. Great entertainment with a good human story in the middle of it. I love it too.
