So Good

This book was so good that I stopped at the 5th chapter and gifted the audiobook to a friend. I NEEDED someone to discuss The Let Them Theory with and I knew she would love the book as much as I was loving it. She did — so much so that she shared the book with several of her friends and we ended up creating a book club of sorts on accident. The idea is simple but the impact is profound and Mel was easy and fun to listen to. I’d give this book 10 stars if I could.

Smart, Edgy Thriller

This book had me staying up late and sneaking a few minutes to listen between meetings. I particularly liked that Maggie was a younger, edgy woman rather than the standard male lawyer or older female reporter or doctor we so often see in thrillers. Fresh, new and fast paced — and A+ for both the story and narration in my book.

Loved it!

I’m not sure why I waited so long to listen to this book, but I absolutely loved it. Perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas, Yarros has give us an underdog to root for in Fourth Wing and enough steam to make us blush when listening to her book in public. Performance by Rebecca Soler was spot on, too.

I throughly enjoyed this book. 5 stars for excellent writing and narration.

Just OK

I have followed the series from the beginning and Evie has always had her less than awesome moments, but she was pretty hard to like most of this book.

The other characters were fine but the whole love triangle almost started to feel icky as well as annoying.

The overall story progress and was good. The side character stories were fairly strong. Narration was on point.

I’ll read the next book because I want to know how the series ends but I sure hope Evie makes a comeback for a strong finale.

Slow to Start but then it Ramps Up

This started a bit slow for me but overall I loved the story. A nice nod to Norse history and a story centering on both a male and female protagonist. I’m usually not a fan of men reading women’s narrative but Rob Shapiro did a good job with not going too falsetto. Romance without too much detail was also nice.

Loved it!

All of the pieces of the Ash Princess trilogy start to come together in Lady Smoke. Theo continues to grow into her own and the story kept a nice pace. Ended with enough of a tease that I can’t wait for book 3!

Great performance by the narrator.

A Few Surprises

I have loved this series from the beginning and A Reaper at the Gates is no different. There were a few twists and turns that took me by surprise (which rarely happens) and the performance of the narrators is stellar. Would recommend!

Cute Story, Annoying Narration

The story was cute. Not quite realistic but fun to listen to and filled with sweet romance that wasn’t just sex.

However, the narrators voice is a bit grating. She reads more like she is reading a children’s book than a romance.
