Excellent Resource for Lent
Revisado: 04-19-25
This book is an excellent combination of devotional, teaching, and a well-researched history of Lent and its practices. Each day has three short sections for devotion, application, and a teaching on Lent that can be listened to in about 10-15 minutes. Each day also presents a different fast for that day, but not the traditional fasting that you would normally think of. These fasts include things like isolation, spectatorship, spiritual self-protection, criticism, and more. I am recommending this book to everyone I know who practices Lent. I am sure I will come back to it again next year.

Historia
Much-Afraid begins her journey, crippled and disfigured, with the cry, "Oh, if only I could escape from this Valley of Humiliation altogether and go to the High Places." She leaves her Fearing relatives behind, and presses on to the Realm of Love. As the Chief Shepard explains, no Fears can live in this realm, because "perfect love casts out fears and everything that torments".

Just be aware this is an abridged version
Revisado: 01-13-22
The narrator of this story was great, but as it is one of my favorite stories that I either listen to or read once a year, I quickly noticed there were little portions of each chapter missing. I checked in my written version just to be sure. I think you could still get the full “journey “ of the story with this reading, but you may miss some of the finer details that give it some of its richness.

I love the story, but issues with editing
Revisado: 10-05-20
This is one of my favorite stories, and it was well read. However, there were several places where small sections were repeated. I downloaded this book as an “Included” selection, so I didn’t pay for it, but if someone had paid for it, they might have an issue with the repeating.
