I really enjoyed this. It didn’t hit quite as hard as the first in the series, but it still delivered a satisfying, heartfelt romance. I loved that the hero was more of an average Joe—kind, grounded, and refreshingly real. The historical detail was excellent, which I’m a stickler for, and it gave the whole story a strong, immersive feel. A lovely read overall.

I wanted more
Revisado: 05-07-25
Yes, I liked it—but didn’t quite love it. Joan’s story was interesting, and the writing was strong, but telling it only from her point of view felt limiting. I wanted more of the larger court intrigue and political tension. The story of Edward, Isabella, and Roger is so compelling on its own, but this just didn’t fully capture the intensity or complexity of that drama. Solid historical detail, but it left me wanting more.

I knocked up my best friend's sister. Let's start with how she decided to inform me and Pacey the news...together. Imagine that nightmare. I was going into what I thought was a hockey marketing meeting, and then bam! I'm going to be a dad and my best friend/teammate is attempting to imprint my face with his fist. Threats were tossed around, friendships were revoked, and then I was marched up to her apartment, suitcases in hand, and forced to live with her so I could take care of her every need. Now I'm finding it harder and harder not to fall for my best friend's little sister.

Funny, but...
Revisado: 01-21-25
I enjoyed this book, though it didn’t quite measure up to the others in the series. The 'crazy prego brain' moments were a bit over the top, and the ending felt like it was stretched unnecessarily. Plus, the odd references to the pelvic bone and trachea weren’t exactly hot and pulled me out of the moment. That said, it still had some laugh-out-loud moments that reminded me why I love this series. Overall, a fun read, but not my favorite.

Word to the wise, never become roommates with a girl you’ve been pining over for the better part of a year. You're probably wondering why I would do such a thing? Well, I didn’t. It was my teammates. The moment they found out Blakely White was single, they took it upon themselves to play cupid and instruct me on how I should win her over. Don't wear a shirt around her. Make her dinner. Lightly touch her shoulder when you say goodbye. I'm so flustered, so overwhelmed, so madly in love with this woman who barely notices me.

"Really enjoyed this book! A sweet romance with just the right amount of spice. There were a few odd choices of phrasing (back hole... why?), but overall, it was an entertaining read. The banter between the boys was absolutely top-notch and kept me smiling throughout!"

In the idyllic town of Middle Falls, Oregon, a peculiar phenomenon unfolds—those who die but are not prepared to move on open their eyes again at a pivotal juncture in their past lives, all memories of their first life intact. That includes Hattie Kildare. After dying in 2008, Hattie awakens as a teenager in 1943, back in a world gripped by the chaos of World War II. Amidst the echoes of conflict and the specter of loss, she is reunited with Jimmy, her beloved first boyfriend lost to the war in her first life.

Not my favorite- but a decent yarn.
Revisado: 09-23-24
I was very excited about a WWII era Middle Falls experience and it kind of fell flat. There was just not enough historical context- outside of a few base level references to rationing and the boys going to war. I had high hopes the interest in photography would pave the way for Hattie becoming a war correspondent to stay close to Jimmy- and there would be a deeper dive into the history as a result, but alas that did not occur. They also never touched on segregation, which seems a big thing to skip past. And while I can appreciate that there is merit and beauty to be found and highlighted in a simpler life, Hattie never really gave main character energy.

Surprisingly tame

A cute love story disguised as terrible erotica. Monster or not, this was a snore fest. The author seems to think a man having a large member is the only thing needed to push the scene into something shocking and taboo.

When her voyeur turns out to be a nebbishly charming mothman, Grace needs to decide if she can trust her body—and her heart—with this garnet-eyed stranger before he flies out of her life for good.

Too many fluids and secretions.
Revisado: 08-28-24
This book had me wondering if the author has any personal knowledge of the HUMAN female anatomy. There were so many moments where I found myself thinking, "That's not how that works," or "Why would someone think that was hot?" I might have been able to forgive that, had the author not used such crass and juvinile language, and been so obsessed with describing the characters bodily fluids. I almost wonder if this was partially AI generated. I guess if you have a particular afinity for semen, then this is for you, if not you might want to skip it.

It is really bad!
Revisado: 04-11-23
The writing is very immature, the prose lends nothing to the plot and for some reason, the author seems to feel the characters need to describe every thought out loud and in tedious, monotonous and uninspiring detail. The love story, if you can call it that does not even begin until the last hour of the book, and even then their declaration of love is based off maybe six sentences of dialogue throughout the entire book. The narrator did a decent job.

Revisado: 03-23-23
I really liked the idea of this book, and the characters were enduring. That said, this book could have been and should have been a novella. There was just too much repetition. Had it been a shorter, I think it would have kept my interest.

Just okay...
Revisado: 03-02-23
This one was a struggle. Ned kept making some truly dimwitted mistakes that anyone could see were going to turn out badly. I could forgive that, if he ever took accountability for how stupid those decisions were, but he seemed shocked each time. Not my favorite, but it was nice to see some familiar characters.
