So all the female leads are dumb

After the dumb decisions of the first book, I thought I would give the second book another go, but it seems like all the female leads are just dumb. If a guy gets out of a car, getting a gun to go talk to some guys, the only reason to get out of the car too is to run away, not ask him what's going on. Maybe if she wasn't a normal person it would make sense to insert herself into the situation, but if she's supposed to be some jane smith type character, she wouldn't follow after a guy with a gun unless she was completely stupid. Ruined the whole story. Not even gonna bother with anymore of the series.

We all knew what she was going to do, but if she was going to do it, doing it bc she's "a strong independent woman" is stupid as hell when she was nearly assaulted less than 24 hours earlier. When women make dumb decisions bc they're just being dumb ruins a perfectly decent if not somewhat overdramatic story.

I'm all for the accidental pregnancy trope, but not when it's from the main character being stupid. When there's a risk of pregnancy, and emergency contraception is in your hands, you take it right away. you don't leave it on the counter and "forget'" to take it. There's so many ways for an accidental pregnancy, but "forgetting" abt emergency contraceptives or assuming you're not ovulating is just being stupid and ruins an otherwise good story.

I refuse to believe that people as smart as Charlie and Micah are this stupid.

I was into it for like 90% of the book, but the last bit was so dumb. Her thoughts and actions are so contradictory that I'm like, you clearly know what's happening, but you're still sticking around and dragging it out. It was super obvious too, so even if her thoughts and actions aligned, she'd still be stupid to not realize what was going on. It's a good book, but the ending just takes a really clever woman and makes her real dumb for drama or plot progression. Did not care for that.

Not my favorite of these books. A bit slow here and there. Both performers are lacking, but not the worst I've ever heard. It's not a bad listen while doing other stuff. Something in the background while cooking or working.

The story is great as always by these authors, but someone needs to tell the female narrator that she's reading a novel, not slam poetry. I'll be listening to the rest of this story via TTS thanks to her. The robotic voice of my TTS is preferable to whatever she's doing.

Pretty good, but maybe a different narrator...

Despite the questionable material (my fault for not taking the warning seriously lol), it was refreshing to have a break from the formulaic stories most romance novels follow. Or at the very least, it was nice to take a different route to the same ending. Jarring as it was, I enjoyed it in the end.

Maybe a different narrator tho...I'll admit, he's more expressive than most, but a lot of the time, he gave me major Wallace Shawn vibes, which really killed my buzz on occasion lol Also, maybe rethink his pronunciation of chauffeur...

The first two are ok, but ick, this one was bad. She sets up the maze and everything as much as she can (albeit predictably), but then let's the ending out the side door. It's such a terrible way to handle it. Was the book too long and she didn't want to deal with the last few chapters it would take to have Carter find what he needed? Must've been. Oh well. It's an okay series for trashy romance, and Joel Leslie does a great job narrating as always, but this final book...it's not worth reading any of them.
