Historia
James A. Garfield may have been the most extraordinary man ever elected president. Born into abject poverty, he rose to become a wunderkind scholar, a Civil War hero, and a renowned and admired reformist congressman. Nominated for president against his will, he engaged in a fierce battle with the corrupt political establishment. But four months after his inauguration, a deranged office seeker tracked Garfield down and shot him in the back. But the shot didn’t kill Garfield. The drama of what happened subsequently is a powerful story of a nation in turmoil.

Amazing story!
Revisado: 11-24-20
The only reason I bought this book was because I loved River of Doubt. I had zero interest in President Garfield! But now...wow, what an extraordinary man. I am so glad I read this book. I’ll probably continue buying Candice Millard’s books just because I’ve learned so much about history from them, and in an engaging way. This is a great read.

Historia
It took nearly two millennia for the enemies of the Catholic Church to realize they could not successfully attack the Church from the outside. Indeed, countless nemeses from Nero to Napoleon succeeded only in creating sympathy and martyrs for our Catholic Faith. That all changed in the mid-19th century, when clandestine societies populated by Modernists and Marxists hatched a plan to subvert the Catholic Church from within. Their goal: to change Her doctrine, Her liturgy, and Her mission.

Thank you for the education!

I was amazed, sickened, and educated by this story. Everyone needs to read this. Narrator was terrible; the Latin pronunciation was painful. I really would have liked to hear the book in a man’s voice since the author is male. Other than that, an incredible read!

Historia
The way to perfection is simple - to unite one’s will with God’s, putting into action the prayer “Thy will be done". In this precious short work, Uniformity with God's Will, St. Alphonsus Liguori explains the importance of conforming one’s will to God’s and how to do so; how God is glorified by our resignation to his will even more than by our acts; how to gain peace of mind and serenity by trusting in God, accepting what he wills for our lives, and following his commands.

Historia
Tornadoes, cyclones, tsunamis… Weather can be deadly – especially when it strikes without warning. Millions of Americans could soon find themselves at the mercy of violent weather if the public data behind lifesaving storm alerts gets privatized for personal gain. In his first Audible Original feature, New York Times best-selling author and journalist Michael Lewis delivers hard-hitting research on not-so-random weather data – and how Washington plans to release it.

Anti-Trump Propaganda

Don’t bother with this book. It began with a fairly interesting description of what the department of commerce really does, then became a liberal rant. Even though this book was free I feel robbed...of my time.
