reimagining what old Hollywood can teach us today
Revisado: 11-17-23
loved the book, knocked off a star for a few lines that made me cringe. The foreshadowing was fine, it made the story a bit predictable, but was probably placed there to keep listeners (readers) attention during less dramatic points of the story. Those being my only real critiques, it was an entertaining and soul-warming story with some inadvertent advice to women of all ages.

covers everything so far discovered regarding decision making. eventually, I hope stuff like this will be mandatory in education, but until then, please listen, share, and understand the big and small things that influence your "free will" every day

Historia
This riveting narrative explores the lives of six remarkable female pharaohs, from Hatshepsut to Cleopatra - women who ruled with real power - and shines a piercing light on our own perceptions of women in power today. Female rulers are a rare phenomenon - but thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt, women reigned supreme. But throughout human history, women in positions of power were more often used as political pawns in a male-dominated society. What was so special about ancient Egypt that provided women this kind of access to the highest political office?

Girl-Power narrative disguised as history
Revisado: 06-14-19
the stories are interesting enough, and I very much enjoyed the allusions to modern events. however, This book doesn't have wide audience and doesn't make an effort to create one. The way we choose to interpret history tells much about the person, as much as the time and place they exist in. I doubt that a book such as this could have been created outside of a western liberalized environment, nor do I predict it will be consumed outside of the sphere in which was created.
However, humanity requires we learn from these women rulers, as they have much to tell about surviving through disaster and chaos. And while the thesis seems to be "women with power will get us through rough times" the underlying, true thesis is "women can only obtain powerful titles when men are weak, young, or dead."
