Historia
Some doors are locked for a reason.... While 11-year-old Nora Davis was up in her bedroom doing homework, she had no idea her father was killing women in the basement. Until the day the police arrived at their front door. Decades later, Nora's father is spending his life behind bars, and Nora is a successful surgeon with a quiet, solitary existence. Nobody knows her father was a notorious serial killer. And she intends to keep it that way. Then Nora discovers one of her young female patients has been murdered.

Decent thriller, if you can endure the voice acting.

I have no complaints about the story. As far as your free-on-audible thriller novels, it is fine. I did not like the reader at all. The inflections were very forced, almost juvenile.

Historia
i>The World According to Bertie is the fourth in the series and revolves around the many colorful characters that come and go at No. 44 Scotland Street. McCall Smith handles the characters with his customary charm and deftness - the stalwart Tory chartered surveyor, the pushy mother, and, most importantly in this novel, the beleaguered Italian-speaking prodigy, Bertie. This is classic McCall Smith - clever, witty and entertaining - and beautifully illustrated.

Charming Prose and lovable characters
Revisado: 06-03-15
I have really enjoyed the Scotland Street Series. While you aren't in for a rivelting thriller when you take a listen you do encounter humor, and charm. You also become inextricably attached the plight of the lovable and entirely human characters you meet along the way.

Just as she gave voice to the silent women of the Old Testament in The Red Tent, Anita Diamant creates a cast of breathtakingly vivid characters - young women who escaped to Israel from Nazi Europe - in this intensely dramatic novel.

Great characters and moving story!
Revisado: 05-05-15
A beautiful story that accurately and poignantly portrays a cross-section of the Jewish survivors and refugees in Palestine after world war 2. The performance was good. The voice and accents are not distracting.
