For the worse. The remaining population seems to think they are owed something. So, instead of rebuilding, they steal, kill, rape and pillage. The world we live in now is one where you have to fight or die. There are no exceptions. The only thing we can do is continue on and try to rebuild.

Walking dead meets z nation

Story line was good moved along at a good pace. My only suggestion would be to add more detail of surroundings for the reader to picture the story better.
The performance was good,but main character a southern farm woman sounds more like a well articulated yuppie from Atlanta than a farmer.
All things considered I liked it and would read/listen to more of this series.

Loved this book, now one of my all time favorites! The story was imaginative. The action thrilling.the love interest compelling.left me wishing for more story of the characters.the reader for this audiobook had fantastic inflection.all in all a highly enjoyable listen.

Not your usual Sci-Fi Invasion Story

Riveting from start to finish.

This story line was very well thought out. All the dots connected in the end.
The only criticism I could have is that the story takes place in unfamiliar location. The details are their for the city, but unknown to most readers. That being said story still held my attention all the way through.
The performance was fantastic and exuberant at times. A little loud on the yelling parts, if using headphones or ear buds. But wonderfully done.
I would put the story on par with the likes of Blade Runner. Would love to see this made into a movie someday.
I thought it was a good choice to end it as a stand alone work or continue the story about the young girl and old man.
All in all I highly recommend it.

The only thing missing was sound effects. I was riveted and could not stop. I listened to it straight through. I'm an engineer by trade. It was well researched with believable technology and background story. A must read!!
