Unexpected ending

This short story was an interesting exploration of what might be lurking within the walls. The ending was not what I was expecting and seemed a bit more appropriate to the next century than current times. The narration was excellent and very easy to listen to.

Zillia and Soonie

So great to spend more time with characters from books 1 and 2 in this series. Both Soonie and Zillia are married and are excited to spend Christmas together, but many problems start to pop up and it looks like Soonie won't make it to Zillia's for Christmas after all. Enjoyable and sweet story. J Grace Pennington handled the narration expertly.

Enjoyable Collection of Sweet Stories!

Collection of three stories by Angela Castillo, all based on Texas in the 1890's. I enjoyed all three stories, the plots were all very unique and kept me listening. I liked that in all the stories the plot centered on the heroine and conflicts happening in her life. She took charge to solve the problem and make her life better. There is a hint of romance, but the romance is not the main focus of the story.
The narration was excellently done and reflected each story well. J, Grace Pennington handled character voices, intonation, accents and even singing with ease.

A news story? or Love???

Kaycee is very skeptical about Nirvana Ranch and the goings on there between the cowboys and the guests. After getting fired from her newspaper job for a poorly researched article about the Ranch, she has an ax to grind with Nirvana Ranch. She decides to go undercover and applies for a job at the Ranch so she can investigate on her own. What she doesn't account for is falling in love with Chase Sever, the owner of Nirvana Ranch. Will love last after he learns she is the journalist who tried to bring down his ranch?
Narration by Logan McAllister was easy to listen to and high quality.

Healing for Cara

All Cara knew of love and relationships was based on an abusive relationship with her deceased husband when she applied to visit Nirvana Ranch. She was expecting a fun and relaxing time at the ranch but certainly wasn't expecting to fall for a sexy cowboy. But she must focus on healing from her past before she can trust a future with Ben.
I was rooting for Cara throughout the entire story.
Logan McAllister did an excellent job on the narration in all ways.

Great overview and Introduction

I recently learned more about Intermittent Fasting and wanted to learn more. This is a quick overview and includes what IF is, why it is beneficial, different options for fasting and a how-to guide. The quick overview does not include studies that back up the data, but nothing mentioned in the book contradicted what I have read about intermittent fasting from other sources.
Narration was a bit fast for me, but that was easily changed with the audible speed adjustment.

Forgiveness and Healing

I have enjoyed each of Sandra Sinclair's books in this series. In this book we meet Constance who abandoned her two daughters 13 years ago. Now she has learned that her oldest daughter has died and Rachel, her youngest daughter is living nearby with her new husband. We learn more of what happened in the past that led Constance to leave her family and we find that she did the right thing for her family and for herself. Now she wants to make amends. Except Rachel feels like her mother has abandoned her and wants nothing to do with her.
A truly sweet and enjoyable book that reminds you of the importance of family and forgiveness made all the more enjoyable by the excellent narration by C.J. McAllister.

Will Adriel Remember?

We heard the beginning of Adriel's story in Gambled Pride. Some of the plot in Captured Heart is the same as Gambled Pride, but told from Adriel's perspective, so I liked hearing more of the situation that wasn't originally revealed in Gambled Pride.

Adriel has no memory of her past life and decided to go west as a mail order bride. Once she arrived in Jubilee Springs, she crossed paths with her husband, a husband she has no memory of and who thought she was dead. Adriel wants nothing more than to remember this man who is stirring up feelings in her, but when she does, she remembers pieces of her past that need to be settled once and for all.
I enjoyed the plot of this book and the characters of Adriel and Rachel. Narration was expertly done by CJ McAllister. And enjoyable listen.

So much story packed into this book!

This book begins the story of two mail-order brides, Rachel and Adriel. Rachel is running from her past and must move forward to live the life paved out for her by her late sister. Beg Wilson is matched with Rachel and he has some demons in his past as well. When Rachel's past catches up with her, she is ready, thanks to Beg.
Adriel's story is continued in Captured Heart.
The narration and the plot and characters all combined to make this a listen I couldn't push pause on. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Greta and Adam

Greta married Adam's brother Seth because it seemed like the best (and only) option, even though she would have preferred to marry Adam. When Seth dies just days into their marriage, Seth's parents arrange a proxy married between Greta and Adam. Greta isn't sure that she will be enough for Adam and doesn't want to be the reason that he can't do what he loves, which is being at sea. I liked when Greta finally pursued an annulment instead of going along with what everyone else wanted for her life. It felt like she was standing up for herself. When Adam finally comes home to claim his bride, he learns of the annulment proceedings and makes an effort to woo his proxy bride.
Enjoyable story with excellent narration from J. Scott Bennett.
