Historia
In January 1978, I slept in my bed at the Chi Omega sorority house at Florida State University as Ted Bundy stalked nearby. He grabbed an oak log from a stack of firewood, slipped through a back door with a broken padlock, and headed upstairs. He began twisting doorknobs. Room 9 was open, and he quietly and quickly killed one of my sleeping sorority sisters. Across the hall, he found another unlocked door and murdered again. Then, he turned the knob to my bedroom and found it was open. I remember the attack vividly. But Bundy wasn’t my first brush with death, and he wasn’t my last.

Required Reading
Revisado: 10-18-24
Of all the Bundy books I've read from all different perspectives, this one stands out. If someone only read one book on the subject this one tells you everything you really need to know. And it represents every single victim as they person they were.

WHO READ THIS
Revisado: 07-07-23
I'm usually pretty tolerant of less than ideal narrators, but this guy takes the cake. Sentences are so overemphasized, overdramatized, the cadence so choppy that it was often difficult to take the narration seriously. I'd go so far as to day it felt wildly inappropriate at times for such a serious subject matter. And then the mispronounciation comes into play with things that could be easily looked up like the Greek alphabet and Lake Sammamish. I considered returning the purchase but I didn't want to negatively impact the author.
If you listened to the previous three books I'd switch to print for this one and come back to the audio afterward.

Historia
It was the trial that stunned America, the verdict that shocked us all. On July 5, 2011, nearly three years after her initial arrest, Casey Anthony walked away, virtually scot-free, from one of the most sensational murder trials of all time. She'd been accused of killing her daughter, Caylee, but the trial only left behind more questions: Was she actually innocent? What really happened to Caylee? Was this what justice really looked like?

Sincere and Hearfelt
Revisado: 01-26-21
You can tell the author comes from a sincere place and everything he said and did in the trial was in good faith. The most impactful part is his closing statements. It's worth a read just for the takeaway.

Exceeded expectations
Revisado: 05-30-19
I was originally put off with how short this is compared to some other AO titles but the suspense made it last. They build it so gradually and masterfully too. By the end I was hanging onto every moment and forgot to breathe.

Historia
What’s in a label? Are we the product of our upbringing or do we have a natural propensity towards good or evil? The eternal question of nature vs nurture is at the centre of Dr Diane Buckley’s world. A talented freelance forensic psychologist who has never quite found the key to engaging with people on a casual level, she is drafted in to examine a grisly murder – a body found in a children’s playground.

Segmented into Episodes
Revisado: 02-14-19
The whole piece has been segmented into episodes with intro music and an announcement of the title and author. If this was made by audible for audible, why is that in there? if it's been adapted, why hasn't it been edited out?
The story itself is quite good, though. I read this in one go. My one disappointment is the questions that are left unanswered by the end. This would make sense if there is a second volume to come though
