Broken terrible English
Revisado: 04-22-21
The author and/or translator don’t speak proper English. The grammar is terrible. The narrator possible worse.
I’m pretty sure all the 5-star reviews are fake.
And to top it all advice on how to get more disciplined is: try harder.
For example, in chapter 1 while discussing weight loss goals the author suggests that if you want to lose weight you shouldn’t allow yourself to eat junk food or sweets. Oh my, why didn’t I think of that!!! That clearly solves all my weight issues.
The same sort of advice is given on every other topic: don’t allow yourself to lose your temper, make sure you’re more punctual, act more like successful people you admire.

Historia
You were on your way home when you died. It was a car accident. Nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. You left behind a wife and two children. It was a painless death. The EMTs tried their best to save you, but to no avail. Your body was so utterly shattered you were better off, trust me. And that’s when you met me." A short story about the universe.

Historia
One wrong move can undercut your message. Believe it or not, our bodies speak louder than our words. Postures, gestures, and expressions convey reams of information - and often not what you'd expect. A smile, for example, is usually considered welcoming. But crook one corner of your mouth higher, and you project superiority, subconsciously chasing other people away. Without Saying a Word explains how even the subtlest motions have meaning.

Constantly pushing political dogma's
Revisado: 10-02-18
This book is constantly pushing a political agenda and viewpoint.
I didn't finish it because of that.
Aside from this, it's not really a beneficial read in this format, because it amounts to a never ending summary/list describing body postures that aren't really useful without images.

Historia
When they met at an airport, it was love at first sight. But in time, everything collapsed. As an unnamed but unforgettable woman muses on her life—from meet cute to marriage and parenthood—her recollections inexorably build to a devastating truth. In this shattering performance, Carey Mulligan, star of the critically lauded drama An Education, captivates audiences with playwright Dennis Kelly’s harrowing ruminations on family, ambition, gender, and violence.

Propaganda piece
Revisado: 09-24-18
This could have been an interesting look into gender differences, but instead ended up being nothing but a cheap propaganda piece with a clear agenda to sell.
Brace yourself for having one gender completely stereotyped, with none of their members having individual nuanced personalities or motives, and totally conforming to the most blatant of gender stereotypes, while having the other gender behave completely anti stereotypically to the point of having them behave unrealistically and forced, just to avoid having them engage in normal behavior that could potentially in some context be construed as gender stereotypically.
The result is a totally one-sided perspective on both genders, with neither of them behaving as PEOPLE (of either gender) would just to push a point.
Not worth the money, even though I got it for free, I feel like I lost money on it because it wasted my time.

Historia
Returning to the territory he so brilliantly explored in his masterful New York Times best seller American Gods, the incomparable Neil Gaiman offers up a work of dazzling ingenuity, a kaleidoscopic journey deep into myth that is at once startling, terrifying, exhilarating, and fiercely funny, a true wonder of a novel that confirms Stephen King's glowing assessment of the author as "a treasure house of story, and we are lucky to have him."

Simply amazing
Revisado: 08-17-18
It's hard to imagine an audiobook better narrated than this one. That, combined with a stellar story, makes for an unforgettable combo.
I usually don't read fiction, and when I do I do read this type of fiction, but man am I glad I gave this one a go!
Even if this genre is not in your normal repertoire (or especially then) you should try this one. You won't regret it.

Juvinile and pointless
Revisado: 01-14-18
Storyline:
Cold hearted corporate bitch in a loveless engagement to a corporate prick, gets advice for friend to "look on the bright side".
Within days, she:
- finds love of her life
- changes careers from a soul sucking job to her life's passion
- reunites with estranged family
- redesigns her whole living space/enviroment
- changes her entire life
- lives happily ever after
All this highly predictable, highly telegraphed, with shallow, self-evident insights which cause the character no effort or soul-searching to achieve.
Suddenly everything "magically" falls into place, and without effort or thought, she transforms her entire life, due to a serious of fortunate misfortunes which all just seem to work themselves out because she's more positive.
You're left wondering: if all this was this easy, then why hasn't she done it/realized it before.
After all, you can see all these changes/realizations coming from a mile away, so why couldn't she?
In the end, you're left with 7 hours of time filler, which didn't anything new in any way.
You'll have forgotten about this book days after you've read it... which seems to indicate that it's time you might as well spend on something more... meaningful.

Historia
Seventy-one and a man used to controlling those around him, Saul finds himself slipping into what he describes as his slow dance with death. His ramblings, humor, emotions, lucid moments, and confusion are laid bare as well as the thoughts and feelings of his loved ones: his wife, Monique, conflicted and depressed, caring yet angry; his daughter, Florence, compassionate yet proper and reserved; his son, Joey, self-centered and narcissistic, seemingly indifferent to his family's challenges.

The rambling of an elderly person with dementia.
No point, no plot, no insight, no reason.
If this type of dialogue interests you, go talk to some elderly in the old folk home instead. At least that would serve a purpose.

Would you listen to The Palest Ink again? Why?
The story, and subject is interesting, which makes the book worth reading.
But the writing itself is rather juvenile.

Historia
In what constitutes as a prequel to Mariners of Gor, we learn that a mysterious cargo, suitably disguised, was covertly placed on the great ship, a cargo that might influence the outcome of the aforementioned gamble. One narrator is a young woman, once a Miss Margaret Alyssa Cameron, and the other is an individual whose name, for reasons that will become obvious, is withheld in the manuscript. It does seem clear, however, that the individual referred to was somehow instrumental in bringing the former Miss Cameron to the height of a large slave block in the coastal city of Brundisium, one of Gor’s major ports.

Worst male voice actor ever
Revisado: 05-13-16
The male voice in this book is unlistenable. Aside from the fact that he reads as if he's is a (poor) stage magician he also cannot pronounce words either in English (wHip, wHimpering, etc) or words unique to the series, (breaking from the pronunciation previous used in the series for kajira, tabuk and even Gorean).
Worst reading ever.
