A good story with contemporary dialog.

I really enjoyed this story. There were definitely some surprises along the way too (I’m talking about jaw dropping surprises).
Phillips Soo did a REALLY good job telling/narrating the story. She breathed life into them and helped me to actually “see” them moving throughout the book. It’s a wonderful gift!!
I like that the dialog was very “real”, not written so everyone spoke “properly”. I’m mean I could hear some of my friends and I speaking exactly the same way. If you wonder if I would recommend this book, let’s put it this way; as soon as I finished it, I started the book all over again!!

A MUST Listen for any & all Princess Bride Fans!!!

I loved every word of this book!
Cary's writing is both informative and inclusive. There were times (thanks to Cary reading it himself) that I felt as if I were right there with him, listening and seeing in my minds eye what location and moment he's speaking about in reference to the movie.
I learned so much about how the movie was made, how much work goes into it and if I were every lucky enough to act in a movie, I would want it to be with Rob Reiner as the director.
It was wonderful to learn that this movie is loved and cherished by the actors as much as by we the fans. I'm 56 years old and have been watching this moving since it came out back in the 80's. It really is the perfect film with something for everyone. From the romantic love story, to the sword fighting, murderous prince, tongue in cheek humor throughout it, beautiful locations, outstanding acting and a perfectly happy ending. What more could you want from a movie?!
I am a bit ashamed to admit I have never read the book that this movie is made from. But, I intend to change that immediately, so I can fall in love with this story all over again!

No one but Leah could’ve read this!

As my title says, “No One But Leah Could’ve Read This”!!! She brings us into her mind, her heart, her soul, in these pages that she reads to us.
No other narrator, and there area some VERY talented ones out there, could ever let me feel her joy, her excitement, her confusion, anxiety, disappointment, anger, depression, resentment, guilt and finally, her healing, which even today, I know ,is still progress.
I’ve watched her entire series: Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, that she did with Mike Rinder. It opened my eyes to just how close I came to falling prey to the “Church” of Scientology. I came upon a copy of Dianetics when I was in a low point emotionally in my life and was reading the book every night before I went to sleep. Well, for no reason other than Devine intervention, I just stopped reading it; and eventually it left the house.
This book gives you an insider’s view of what Scientology is and isn’t about. It also shows you exactly Why Leah moved forward and made her show. Do, whether you want to learn more about Leah, Scientology or both, I highly recommend this book!

I thoroughly enjoy this book!!!

As above stated, I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
It has a different pace than the previous, but it has to simply because this is a new and less frenetic path for the characters.
After getting to know our main characters; Sherman Holmes and Joel Watson (formerly Agent 221), in The Case of the Damaged; we find them actually running their own detective agency!
Watson is learning how to deal with his past demons while truly putting his trust in Holmes. And Holmes is still relearning the world at large, (while some of his food combinations are simply interesting, others may make you queasy just by the thought of them)
I’m not going to give much more away except to say the cat in this story has one of the oddest names I’ve yet to hear given to any pet.
I hope you enjoy The Case of the Haunted Haunted House as much as I did and I Can Not Wait for the next installment!

Comparing the movie to the book can always be challenging, but as much as I love the movie, this book is so much better!
The storylines have been somewhat changed in the movie, but the book is so much more fulfilling!

I really enjoyed this book! The storyline kept me in trade all the way up to the end. The different storylines throughout kept me intrigued and wanting to see what was going to happen and where it was all going to lead to. The only issue I had with at the very beginning of the book. I had trouble understanding what caused everything to happen. When I was listening to the book the second time it helped me to understand a little better.
But other than that one thing, I’m really glad I got this book & am about to buy the 2nd one to get started on it right now!

The concept of the story being told through phone calls and voicemails seemed very interesting to me.
I can honestly say it was a very cool way of hearing the story between mother and daughter. Telling the story in this way you could really hear the points of view & perspectives of all the different people in the story. The story itself was very well written and performed! I laughed, was intrigued, drawn in deeper & deeper at just the right pace. I highly recommend this!

Engaging, Informative, And Funny!

When I purchased this audiobook, I thought it would be interesting. But after listening to it it is much more than that! Some of the detailed information definitely got my curiosity going in regards to the lives of some of the people in the stories. Which, I think was part of the authors intent. He keeps you listening with the humor so the information (and the accuracy of that information), gets in and stays with you. I definitely recommend this book, and plan of getting the next one.

I really did enjoy the story, and the characters were well thought out & engaging. However, I was a little unsure when I started this book, but, it wasn’t too long before I really got into it! It took a little while for me to not be surprised by hearing Mycroft and not Sherlock. But after a little while my brain made the shift.
The ending gave me a chuckle & I like the setup provided of how certain things started.
