The depth of the characters
Revisado: 01-04-25
I feel this book will linger in my head and my heart and my soul for a very, very long time. The narrator was as perfect as always. I am sobbing while typing this review. I’m sad because of the lives and lives lost in Vietnam. If you listen to ONE book let this be it

I have no idea what this book was about. So hard to follow. It jumped around more than a cricket under a glass. Uhg. I’ll never get the credit or time back.

The story has some very interesting points, but it seems to drag in other areas.

I hate wasting a credit when the story is only about six hours long on a slow speed. My fault for not paying attention to how long it was.

Historia
When Sandra Leigh was seven years old, she fell into the role of protector of her mother and three younger siblings. One winter night, she ushered her mother out of the house during one of her father’s tirades, and then snuck her back into the dark home through a window. Sandra was used to events like these; what she wasn’t used to were the mountains and nature surrounding her new home in West Virginia.

Everything. Her courage to write this beautiful heartbreaking novel.
Revisado: 03-30-24
I loved the narrator. Her last line and the love in her voice made the flood gates open wide. She had perfect inflection in her voice.
Sandra. What I wouldnt do to hug your younger you. You are amazing woman with tremendous strength and courage. I can’t thank you enough for sharing your story. Many wonderful wishes🩷

I couldn’t stay interested because of the delivery. Her voice was not the problem. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY if you like more of an enactment of a story than a well constructed reading of notes

The narration was so awful I couldn’t get through the book. I decided to finish it on my own. Wishing I hadn’t wasted the money. The London accents were different each time the character was presented. Very hard to follow.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Read- not audible
Revisado: 04-19-23
Horrible I mean horrible narrative. The reader couldn’t keep an accent straight, so it was so easy to get lost in which characters was even speaking. People from the Blue Ridge Mountains all of a sudden had an English accent and then back again to some drawl. I was frustrated that I didn’t pay attention to the reviews. Decent story if you can read it yourself.
