Historia
Welcome to the gorgeous little Scottish village of Christmas, where snow is falling, presents are being wrapped and the locals are writing their festive wish lists. Will this finally be the year that Belle’s dreams come true? Thirty-year-old Belle Albany is feeling lonely this Christmas. Another whole year has passed and her life is... exactly the same as it was last December. She longs for true love and a little bit of winter magic – but she’s almost given up on finding it in the sleepy Scottish community where she lives.

Loved it...but
Revisado: 12-27-24
This is a captivating story. The writing is really good. The narrator is fabulous. However, I was taken aback as this sweet warm story progressed and then the Kenzie character spit out a highly offensive curse word. It did not even seem to fit her character. So this is probably going to be my first and last book by this author. The author has every right to put whatever she would like to in her story, and readers have every right to decide what they will and won't listen to.

Historia
The year is 1901, and the hustle and bustle of the holidays is descending on New York's Fifth Avenue. For the first time in her privileged life, Adelaide Forsythe couldn’t be happier about the prospect of a quiet Christmas. That’s not to say her transition from Missto Mrs. has been without challenge. Though she doesn’t regret marrying for love instead of wealth, she feels woefully unprepared to run her own household. Then, on the first Sunday of Advent, winter winds bring surprising change, first through a young orphan boy and then a seasoned housekeeper who seems too good to be true.

Lackluster. Do not want to hear about the suffragette movement in a Christmas story.

Listened to two out of the four novellas. They were okay. The other two, after listening for a little while, did not hold my attention at all.

Rowley Knight, Duke of Knighton, is too busy being a duke to bother with such nonsense as love. With three heirs, he is in no hurry whatsoever to succumb to the lures of the leg-shackles. He is content managing his siblings and estates, and avoiding society whenever possible. If he can only find someone to manage his young sister, life can go back to its proper order.

Historia
After five years of tracking and capturing spies on English soil, Philip Jonquil, Earl of Lampton, is in pursuit of his last quarry. But at a traveler’s inn, he encounters an unexpected and far more maddening foe: Sorrel Kendrick, a young lady who is strikingly pretty, shockingly outspoken, and entirely unimpressed with him. Indeed, Sorrel cannot believe the nerve of this gentleman, who rudely accuses her of theft and insults her feminine dignity. Doubly annoyed when they both end up at a party hosted by mutual friends, Philip and Sorrel privately declare war on one another.

A simpering hero. Hmmm. Perhaps a bit too much simpering and mincing. I almost gave up on this numerous times. Took me a long time to grudgingly accept the “hero“. Sorrel is a patient woman!
