The "Captain Hawklin Adventures" met all my expectations as a fan of "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "King Solomon's Mines," "Tales of the Golden Monkey," and other stories in the historical action-adventure genre. Millhouse does a fantastic job of developing the characters in a casual and believable way. Each story is a love letter to comics, novels, and movies of classic fantastical globe-trotting adventures. I'm hooked and look forward to Volume 2. This series worked for me and I recommend it for you. Enjoy!

The author quickly develops the characters and the world around them, then leaps into the action and adventure just as fast. You have enough time to grab your hat and gun - then you’re off. Highly recommended for fans of pulpy two-fisted and high-octane adventures. Author Charles F. Millhouse and narrator Layne Ihde are a perfect team.
