Historia
Harry August is on his deathbed. Again. No matter what he does or the decisions he makes, when death comes, Harry always returns to where he began, a child with all the knowledge of a life he has already lived a dozen times before. Nothing ever changes. Until now. As Harry nears the end of his 11th life, a little girl appears at his bedside. "I nearly missed you, Doctor August", she says. "I need to send a message". This is the story of what Harry does next, and what he did before, and how he tries to save a past he cannot change and a future he cannot allow.

thought provoking exciting, memorable
Revisado: 04-19-21
Easily my favorite time travel story, I loved the journey this character took us on. The story didn't leave any glaring plot holes and the main character was relatable, human and easy to empathize with. His nemesis was as well! This story would make for an excellent miniseries with all the memorable characters, absurd humor and wide variety of locations the story took place in.

Fun, spooky, and addictive story.

This is a fantastic root for the bad guy story. I love the idea of putting the reader in the perspective of someone we would all consider crazy. For anyone who's had a clingy date or a flaky love interest like Beck, you'll enjoy this one.

Entertaining

If you enjoyed the first book You, this one is even better. The character is true to himself yet evolves and there are enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. The narration is superb! The narrator does a fantastic job with tone, and dialogue.

Overly Sentimental tale doesn't meet expectations
Revisado: 07-29-11
This novel started out raising my curiosity. The mystery of the past was a good way to begin the story, but the present day story line was so cheesy and lame. It really added nothing to the book, which also had an ending that was HORRIBLE.
The narrator was excellent though, she did a great job with the accents, giving each character their own voice.

Very compelling and inspiring story
Revisado: 09-17-09
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. The sound quality and the narraitor were excellent. This was an intimate, up close look at a unique canidate and campaign during troubled times. I've read the other reviewers complaints that the author was biased and romanticized RFK's campaign. This may be the case but I can recall a few points when the author makes objective points that aren't flattering for RFK. Bottom line, if you're interested in history, politics, the Kennedys, or RFK you'll love this book. There is a wealth of interesting information and campaign stories that wont disappoint.

Historia
The Dark Side is a narrative account of the decisions the U.S. made after September 11, decisions that not only violated the Constitution, but also hampered the pursuit of Al Qaeda. In gripping detail, Jane Mayer relates specific cases, shown in real time against the larger tableau of Washington, looking at the intelligence gained and the price paid. In all cases, there were incalculable losses in terms of moral standing, our country's place in the world, and its sense of itself.

Enlightening!
Revisado: 06-18-09
A very well crafted account of our country's recent decent into torture and the fearmongering politics of the Bush Administration. Although a very long-winded book, the author leaves no detail or accusation unexplained. Mayer clearly did her homework on this subject, as this book should be mandatory reading for every civics class in American schools.
