After the introduction I slowed the narrative to .7
The story line makes The Three Body book seem crystal clear, and I had to listen to that book more than once,

Political Scree
Revisado: 04-21-24
I listened to 16 chapters before giving up. It’s like sucking on saccharine. Overly sweet with a bitter finish. Should never have been in the Hard Science section.

No joy in this book
Revisado: 06-22-23
This book was not fun. I found myself listening to a chapter or two then putting the story aside for a week or two. Usually when I start a story I listen to it in all my spare time until it’s finished.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Historia
Cole Riker is a Slip Runner. A contractor tasked with finding alien salvage in exchange for credits. For an ex-smuggler like Cole, there’s a catch: Don’t break the terms of parole. That means doing things by the book. Find salvage, turn it in, get paid. But everything changes when a retrieval mission lands him in a previously unknown sector. There, he finds the material he’s been sent to recover, along with something more. A brand-new form of ancient alien life.

Historia
It is autumn 1981 when inconceivable horror comes to Blackeberg, a suburb in Sweden. The body of a teenager is found, emptied of blood, the murder rumored to be part of a ritual killing. Twelve-year-old Oskar is personally hoping that revenge has come at long last—revenge for the bullying he endures at school, day after day. But the murder is not the most important thing on his mind. A new girl has moved in next door—a girl who has never seen a Rubik's Cube before, but who can solve it at once. There is something wrong with her, though, something odd. And she only comes out at night.

Historia
In 1961, Sarah M. Broom’s mother Ivory Mae bought a shotgun house in the then-promising neighborhood of New Orleans East and built her world inside of it. It was the height of the Space Race and the neighborhood was home to a major NASA plant - the postwar optimism seemed assured. A book of great ambition, Sarah M. Broom’s The Yellow House tells a hundred years of her family and their relationship to home in a neglected area of one of America’s most mythologized cities.

Am I woke?
Revisado: 07-19-20
I am white and from Indiana. This is the first book I have read on growing up Black in the South. It is interesting that the author is able to see beyond the cursing to describe the feelings of those deprived. Her descriptions of time, place and emotions are excellent. Am I now Woke? Ha!

This was written and performed for young gamers, not for people with scientific training who are in their 70s. It seems immature.
