Historia
They were a perfect and beautiful family - until a heartbreaking tragedy shattered their happiness. Now, for the sake of an inheritance that will ensure their future, the children must be hidden away out of sight, as if they never existed. They are kept in the attic of their grandmother’s labyrinthine mansion, isolated and alone. As the visits from their seemingly unconcerned mother slowly dwindle, the four children grow ever closer and depend upon one another to survive both this cramped world and their cruel grandmother.

Truly abysmal
Revisado: 06-30-23
This is one if the worst pieces of literature to ever cross my path. It is a punishing read, where you are trapped within a world of terrible storytelling, bland and boring narration, and a feeling of no end in sight - just like the children from the book.
I listened to this because I had found it on several “most disturbing” lists, so I thought I’d give it a shot. However, the only disturbing thing about this book is the fact that is was able to be published. There is absolutely no redeeming quality about this story. It’s painfully slow and redundant, and the writing is cheesy and hokey like a romance novel.
But worst of all is the narration. This performance is so sleepy, subdued, and toneless it almost feels like it’s read by an AI. I wish I could take back the time I spent on this book.

The most fantastic horror novel I’ve ever read
Revisado: 12-11-21
This book is phenomenal.
It made my heart race in fear but also emotionally moved me to the point of tears.
Absolutely no horror epic can compare. I could not recommend this book more! 🤩

She is a housewife: young, healthy, blissfully happy. He is an actor: charismatic and ambitious. The spacious, sun-filled apartment on Manhattan's Upper West Side is their dream home, a dream that turns into an unspeakable nightmare. Enter the chilling world of Ira Levin, where terror is as near as your new neighbors and where evil wears the most innocent face of all.

The perfect way to experience Rosemary’s Baby
Revisado: 09-26-18
There is absolutely no better person on the planet to narrate this classic and chilling story. Mia Farrow’s performance left me with chills! The impact and importance of this story on modern horror cannot be understated. This is the best way to experience a true staple of the horror genre. Hail Rosemary!

Historia
Suburbia. Shady, tree-lined streets; well-tended lawns; and cozy homes. A nice, quiet place to grow up. Unless you are teenage Meg or her crippled sister, Susan. On a dead-end street, in the dark, damp basement of the Chandler house, Meg and Susan are left captive to the savage whims and rages of a distant aunt who is rapidly descending into madness. It is a madness that infects all three of her sons and finally the entire neighborhood. Only one troubled boy stands hesitantly between Meg and Susan and their cruel, torturous deaths.

Disturbing in the best way
Revisado: 09-25-17
A horrifying and immersive experience, The Girl Next Door is an exceptionally well written piece exploring cognitive dissonance, the "us and them" phenomena, and so many other terrifying aspects of abuse and how we perceive it. I was hooked from the start, and the imagery dwells with you long after the read. Disturbing in the best way
