Historia
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

Love all the stories. Love Kevin R Free's voice. His women voices are a bit lacking, but Murderbot voice is spot on!

BEST LOUIS L'AMOUR STORY
Revisado: 08-06-23
I have literally waited years for someone to record this L'Amour book. I am a longtime L'Amour reader and FLINT is my favorite story. I wish Jason Culp could have narrated it (he's my favorite L'Amour narrator), but MacLeod Andrews does a decent job. Thank you so much!!

Historia
On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

Book Better than Amazon Production
Revisado: 07-17-22
The Amazon production of this book was garbage. They changed the story too much and made The main character an emoting nincompoop. This book is outstanding as is. I hope Jack Carr got lots of money for the butcher job Amazon did on his book.

Historia
This highly regarded war memoir was a best seller in both Japan and the United States during the 1960s and has long been treasured by historians for its insights into the Japanese side of the surface war in the Pacific. The author was a survivor of more than one hundred sorties against the Allies and was known throughout Japan as the Unsinkable Captain.

Incredible
Revisado: 08-02-21
I have been a WW2 buff for many, many years which included scouring old bookshops & online. I have yet to read the details that this book gave. It was astounding & gave me insight into the Japanese viewpoint no other source has given me. Absolutely incredible account.

Historia
When Murderbot discovers a dead body on Preservation Station, it knows it is going to have to assist station security to determine who the body is (was), how they were killed (that should be relatively straightforward, at least), and why (because apparently that matters to a lot of people - who knew?). Yes, the unthinkable is about to happen: Murderbot must voluntarily speak to humans! Again!

Murderbot Fugitive Telemetry Review
Revisado: 04-27-21
I fell in love with the Murderbot Diaries and I could hardly wait for the new book. It was a grave disappointment. The other stories were clever, funny, and endearing. This book was different. I guessed the villain once the autopsy results were revealed. I’m not clever so I knew the story wasn’t either. Oh well. I am very thankful for the earlier work and will enjoy listening to them over and over.

Historia
As the effects of the war raging in Europe begin to be felt at home in London, Monica Dickens decides to do her bit and to pursue a new career, and so enrols as a student nurse at a hospital in rural Hertfordshire. By nature clever and spirited, she struggles to submit to the iron rule of the Matron and Sisters, and is alternately infuriated and charmed by her patients. That’s not to mention the mountains of menial work that are a trainee’s lot.

Excellent reader, racist author
Revisado: 12-31-19
I was interested in Monica Dickens’ wartime tale of nursing, but couldn’t even get halfway before her weird racism pushed me away. I know that her easy and comfortable references to people of color as “blacks”, “Negroes,” and even the N word (especially this one, REPEATEDLY) were extremely normal for her generation and class, but she lost me there. Give this book a pass and find something else the excellent Carole Boyd has read.

From one of our finest military historians comes a monumental work that shows us at once the truly global reach of World War II and its deeply personal consequences. Remarkably informed and wide-ranging, Inferno is both elegantly written and cogently argued. Above all, it is a new and essential understanding of one of the greatest and bloodiest events of the 20th century.
