Well, that was fun! More, please! I've been begging for more from this author since I read Enchantment of Ravens. Margaret Rogerson's books have a place on my "favorites" shelf.

Not an easy read, but worth it.

This book wasn't as easy for me to get through as Cerulean Sea or Whispering Door, but it is absolutely worth the read. It’s more like the friend that you're quite fond of, but only visit occasionally just because they wear you out. That's this book. Important, worth the investment of time and energy, but one I don't think I'll revisit often.

This book was difficult to read because it hit me in the feels so very often, but Klune knows just how to do that and keep me hooked. I loved the characters and the unexpected ... I suppose you could call it a magic system? Just read this book. It's as good and as heartwarming as The House in the Cerulean Sea, just tougher topics for me to handle. ❤

Well. that was interesting

I made the mistake of reading the 6 of Crows duology before these books and I think they spoiled me. This was a good book, but I had to keep reminding myself that this was written much earlier than the duology and the author has grown in skill and experience now. The story is sweet and the main character is so naive at times that I just want to pat her on the head and say "bless your heart". But still, a good book.

Modern Feminists Read This Book! It hit so close to home and hit me straight in the feels. The struggle between choosing love and a relationship or independence and the freedom to choose your own path is one I am intimate with. I hope to find my own Ianthe one day.

I feel horrible for some of these characters. Poor things are just stuck in terrible situations. Wonderful resolution to the story and I will definitely be looking for the other stories.

Almost like if My Hero Academia, The Incredibles, and Megamind had a snarky gay baby. I absolutely love the humor in this story and it's just what I needed to brighten the madness that has been 2020 for a little holiday cheer.
