Historia
Against the backdrop of worldwide, unexplainable natural disasters, Dr. Virginia Marilyn Edwards (Emmy Award-winner Kerry Washington) seeks out Agent Scott Thomas (Emmy Award-winner Laurence Fishburne) at a secretive government headquarters. Virginia claims these events are signs, and unless Agent Thomas helps her, she believes things will only get worse. Her desperation is dialed up higher with a shocking proclamation as she stands before him pregnant, weak, and weary: “Agent Thomas,” she says, “I believe I am Mary.”

She said exactly what I thought from the beginning. Her child, being born a black male, was already putting his life in danger in present-day America. They did a great job of using sound to give you visuals. Wanting a part 2 with the first 30 years of baby Joshua's life. Would be awesome.

Female fragility under the microscope
Revisado: 07-25-22
I really loved this book. I can relate too well to many things in this book. The Diviners story is the story of my people. Still hunted for melanin and organs. Not seen as people but a commodity to be used, bought, sold, traded and stocked at the whims of those who do not see us as human. If only magic was real. If only the Orisha worked like they do in this book. Mysteries would be solved and industries shut down. Read this book if you want to understand the price we all pay for racism and see how inhumane humanity truly is. In a safe imagined setting. If you weep for these characters maybe you will have more empathy for those living around you.

I finally did it. I took that last step, and it was everything I wanted. My relationship with my five mates has never been better. They've embraced not only me as a part of their lives but also my daughter, and this feels like the family I always dreamed of. I don't mean just myself and my mates, but the entire pack. They call me "Alpha". No, I'm not the alpha, but I'm learning how to step up. I got this. I'd better, since Wolf's Run has thrown open our doors to more than just wolves, but it seems like my version of winging it is working for all of us.

A ride I couldn't miss taking.
Revisado: 03-31-22
I really liked this series. I normally read more self help and educational books but saw the first book Wolf's Bane a few times and finally decided to read something light. I am so glad that I did!
This series deals with all kinds of topics and issues. I wasn't expecting the sex, Many of the characters remind me if people I know and the constant discussion of how society has taught women to feel shame for their sexuality instead of teaching males to be thoughtful, respectful and to always get consent was refreshing. Not done in a preachy way but in a let's shift our perspective way.
I have a lot to say about this series, I highly recommend it and am grateful for being able to adjust the speed. Not all of us have the privilege of living with shifters and having already overcome that female sexual shame, but this book and the two before it, have given me a new way to look at it and a chance to think about my relationship with sex in a whole new way.
Looking forward to the next installment of the Wolf's Run pack adventures!

Leaving my husband was hard. Trying to face the world alone with my teenage daughter is the sort of thing nightmares are made of, but I caught a break. My best friend just hired me for a great job, with perks like a rent-free house right beside not just one handsome man, but five! Each one is hotter than the last, and all of them seem interested in me. But everyone around us has these strange golden eyes...and there are the questions no one will answer. And who cares if there's a lot of wildlife running around at night? I do, especially when a wolf keeps sneaking into my backyard.

This book has everything. It was better than I expected it to be. I didn't know bout the tent romantic bits, I just knew it was about werewolves. I am going to read the next book now. I love how modern of a tale this is!

I really enjoyed this book as much as I did the first one. I will start the next book after this review is done. This book series deals with grief and how the main character is handling the loss of both parents, one to death the other abandonment. Wonderfully about coming of age at the same time as learning to trust oneself and the magic that lives i side of us all.

I absolutely loved this book! I saw the series on Netflix and thought the book would contain the recipes, ordered the book and was rewarded with an education. Enjoyable from beginning to end, even when discussing difficult topics, the author's sense of paloma and decorum won out. I highly recommend this book to bayonet tht really desires to understand soul food and the history pertaining to the foods it contains.

Historia
On a dark, wintry day, Eliza Grey receives a mysterious letter from her ailing Nana Mora begging her to come for a visit. This is an easy "Yes". Eliza has always preferred Nana Mora's beach cottage on St. Simons Island to the apartment she and her mom call home in the city. The island is a magical place where stories and legends grow as thick as the Spanish moss dangling in the trees. Now, Nana Mora's eyesight is fading, and there's something she wants to show Eliza before it’s totally gone: a mythical place locals refer to as Sirens Harbor.

Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.
