10x Better Than I Ever Imagined!
Revisado: 05-15-24
Fantastic from start to finish! Without a doubt, this masterfully written & performed six-book series is superlative in every way. Educational. Entertaining. Insightful. Gripping. Even more so upon learning the characters and their interactions were based in reality! Thank you, Craig Dilouie! I'm already looking forward to revisiting the entire 'Crash Dive' series again soon.

Rewind! Let's enjoy this one, again!
Revisado: 02-23-23
Thanks guys! For us on the receiving end, this was yet another dozen-or-so hours of listening pleasure to 'catch up' on old friends & characters in the ever expanding, deepening Tier One storyline. Meanwhile, can't imagine the herculean effort and vastly larger number of dedicated hours it takes on your end to research, collaborate and create products of this caliber -- especially, given your numerous other publications. Whatever your secret, it works!
And Ray Porter isn't just great ... he's from-another-planet fantastic! His stellar performances of your stories in this series result in entertainment worthy of repeat listens! In fact, I think I'll rewind this one and do just that! 😊
Hope we get another Tier One installment this time next year to add to our audiobook library!

Ok, but ...
Revisado: 02-04-23
An interesting, though often implausible, storyline amid a slew of truly incredulous, unbelievable plot details. Come on guys, the Navy can't possibly be this screwed up to allow so many deviant situations on a premier nuclear aircraft carrier with 6,000 sailors! From the behavior of its commanding officer & senior staff to the interaction among junior officers, warrants, and enlisted members alike, this book stains the professionalism and dedicated service of the U.S. Navy (disappointing from an author who proclaims to be a SEAL himself).
But, if you overlook so many gross shortcomings and suspend all believability, you should be able to enjoy the 13+ hours of whodunit escapism to figure out the dozen or so murders.
I think this would be a better book to read than audio listen. It was hard to keep up with the excessively large number of characters. The tedious plot line took over 100 of the book's 150+ chapters to fully develop ... and that effort was not aided by the narrator's painfully slow, melodramatic pace. Several times I almost gave up, but found that bumping the speed to 1.3x made the journey more tolerable.
The ending wasn't really an ending, so it will take another planned sequel or two to tie up loose ends. I won't rush to spend my next credit on their Book 2 in the series, though I'll probably get around to it eventually -- but only when I've run out of Gray Man, Orphan X, and Jack Reacher volumes instead.

Coes is getting lazy.
Revisado: 09-11-19
I feel cheated. Except for a few gun & fist fights — all with unbelievably impossible escapes — the slow & tedious plot is simply a rehash of past episodes by the same characters. Nothing new here. I’ve followed the annual drops of the Dewey Andreas series since it began in 2010. Was hoping this new Rob Tacoma spin-off would be a good way for Ben Coes to breathe fresh life and ideas back into his work, but I found it greatly disappointing. Why would anyone want to pay full price for little more than a short, simplistic story? And this one doesn’t end. It just stops ... like a cheap soap opera trick as a ‘come on’ to the listener to buy the next over-priced installment. Even a top-flight narrator like Ari Fliakos can’t salvage such a puny ploy. There are too many other energetic, imaginative writers churning out much better products deserving of my time, attention, and money (e.g., Gregg Hurwitz, Mark Greaney, Andrew Watts, Jack Carr, Michael Grumley, Brian Andrews & Jeffrey Wilson, et.al.). In the future, I will avoid works by this author.

Peter Ash came home from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with only one souvenir: what he calls his "white static", the buzzing claustrophobia due to post-traumatic stress that has driven him to spend a year roaming in nature, sleeping under the stars. But when a friend from the marines commits suicide, Ash returns to civilization to help the man's widow with some home repairs. Under her dilapidated porch, he finds more than he bargained for.

Brian Andrews is an imaginative, creative author. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed his other books, so I jumped at the chance to download this one. It wasn’t at all what I was expecting, but it held my interest and attention to the end. Humm, or was it the end? Regardless, I look forward to his next release as my expectations of his work have now been ‘Reset’ ...
