Historia
Thirty-nine was a fantastic year. I was married to the man I loved. I had a body that worked without creaking. My grandma, who raised me, was still healthy, and life was pretty damned good. But as they say, all good things come to an end. One year later, I’m a widow. My joints are starting to ache. Gram is in the nursing home, and dead people think my home is some kind of supernatural bed-and-breakfast. Gluing body parts onto semi-transparent people has become a side job - deceased people I’m not even sure are actually there.

fun listen
Revisado: 03-16-22
it was definitely a fun listen, plenty of lol parts, some dramatic flares. just enough to keep you listening. some parts were fairly predictable but still good. the narrator was great, pretty easy to determine who was who. she definitely knows when to add the right touches.
overall 4 out of 5 great to help pass the time

Historia
Matt Kearns just needed to get away from it all - to grieve for his father and let the rugged wilderness of Michigan's Upper Peninsula renew him, like it always had. But from the moment he arrives, nothing feels right. Strange happenings shake his confidence and have him questioning his sanity. Even the animals seem to know something is amiss. But each time he tries to leave, something - something truly malicious - violently pulls him back. What could it be? Why him? And what will he have to do to escape with his life?

hmm,3 stars is best.
Revisado: 03-11-22
It's decent, I can say that. Definitely a new author as well as the narrator. The story did bounce a bit, and the narrator has some tuning to do, the hard swollowing and loud breathing is distracting at times. Over all the plot was great, the middle of the book is probably the best, the ending is weaker than it could have been. There is potential for a future Stephen King here just needs work.

For Megan, keeping her boy safe and happy is what matters. But Woody believes a monstrous evil was behind his father’s death and now threatens him and his mother. And he’s not alone in his thoughts. An ally unknown to him is listening.

It could have been better.
Revisado: 02-28-22
For Dean Koontz it was a decent listen, was difficult to follow at times. felt like the story jumped a bit, so if you got distracted for a moment you would have to go back and re listen. The ending was very dry, almost as if he was just trying to finish and be done with it. it definitely has teasers to be a sequel to Watchers, but in the end it's not even close.

Truly amazing, couldn't stop listening. probably the best Koontz has ever done. this is not a listen to help pass the time, it takes you at the beginning and doesn't let go till the end.

kinda hade that bella swan vibe.
Revisado: 08-11-21
Took a little bit to get going, had that slow but curious vibe to it. once it started to progress it kept you drawn in, just enough to wonder what was going on. By the mid it had picked up a good pace, gave some good unexpected surprises. By the end it had some great climaxes, leaving very interested in what was going to continue.
Hopefully the 2nd isn't as slow to start.
