One of the worst listens in recent memory

Wow this story is so bad. I tried to give some credit to the narration team, but there’s weird old west cowboy sounding accents with the dwarves, an annoying almost Russian accent with Grak (which is such a bad name).
The story is passable, I guess, but the dialogue was impressively bad, both in content and delivery. For example, a character asks the protagonist why she’s never seen him smile, when she has been told that a month previous his fiancé and entire family were killed in front of him. Does this need clarification?! It’s so painfully awkward and forced. This is representative of basically every conversation.
Every cheesy fantasy trope you can imagine is there, including the “don’t kill them, that will make you as bad as them” only to immediately have this backfire.
I somehow made it through one book then returned them. Just bad.

I am generally not into group readings/performances like this, but wow this was so good. I loved the different takes on characters and the twists were amazing. Couldn’t recommend enough!
