I was hoping for more of the details of how the terrorist pulled this off and what has been learned about it by intelligence officials in the years since it happened. But it is a very powerful story and told in a very gripping and realistic way. Very hard to hear. Why are we giving foreign aid to this country that is mostly in the grip of Iran at least with the acquiescence of most of its citizens including the “Christians.” It has been a failed state for decades with only a veneer of modernity. Truly tragic.

Jerusalem and the Sinai desert, AD 55. In the turbulent aftermath of the crucifixion of Jesus, agents of the Roman Empire receive information about a pilgrim bearing an incendiary letter from a religious fanatic calling himself Paul the Apostle to insurrectionists in Corinth. What's in the letter could bring down an empire. The Romans hire a former legionary, a solitary man-at-arms named Telamon to intercept the letter and destroy the courier. But once he meets the courier, Telamon experiences an extraordinary conversion.

This was a great book but a few things made it hard to follow on audio. Using so many different names for the main character made it hard at first. but this was well worth it because the story is amazing. A lot of graphic violence that may or may not be historical.

Historia
Hillbilly Elegy is a passionate and personal analysis of a culture in crisis - that of white working-class Americans. The decline of this group, a demographic of our country that has been slowly disintegrating over 40 years, has been reported on with growing frequency and alarm but has never before been written about as searingly from the inside. J. D. Vance tells the true story of what a social, regional, and class decline feels like when you were born with it hung around your neck.

JD Vance was unknown when I listened to this audiobook the first time. I hope a lot of people will listen to his story because it does have a lot to say about our problems as a country. Very raw and honest. I’m sure his narration would be a lot better now!

Historia
Rob Bell's book, Love Wins, has generated a national conversation about ultimate issues, such as the nature of hell, heaven, and the ultimate destiny of humankind. Yet, the book has also created unnecessary confusion. God Wins is a response to the provocative questions Love Wins has raised. In God Wins, Mark Galli explores the important questions that are left unasked and the issues left uncharted.

Historia
Christians know what Jesus Christ has done — but who is he? What is his deepest heart for his people, weary and faltering on their journey toward heaven? Jesus said he is "gentle and lowly in heart." This audiobook reflects on these words, opening up a neglected yet central truth about who he is for sinners and sufferers today.

Revisado: 02-04-22
Socialism and communism have never worked. It ruined peoples lives. It allows leaders to be corrupt. Every system has its flaws flaws but Socialism and communism are about the worst. This is a great book and it’s real heroes are regular people. Hopefully young people who don’t even remember the Berlin wall will read this book.

Good but not a complete story
Revisado: 11-23-21
RC Sproul was an amazing Bible teacher, Reformed movement leader and faithful Christian. This book is strongest about his early years and early ministry but falls short in detail about his later ministry and life. It’s very sugarcoated and unbalanced. This is very shortsighted and unhelpful to present the man in virtually an all positive light. It’s like he never sinned or had any shortcomings. The Bible presents people as flawed and we should too. Hopefully future additions will present a more balanced picture of this amazing American Reformed leader.
