They were a perfect and beautiful family - until a heartbreaking tragedy shattered their happiness. Now, for the sake of an inheritance that will ensure their future, the children must be hidden away out of sight, as if they never existed. They are kept in the attic of their grandmother’s labyrinthine mansion, isolated and alone. As the visits from their seemingly unconcerned mother slowly dwindle, the four children grow ever closer and depend upon one another to survive both this cramped world and their cruel grandmother.

Historia
On a warm spring evening, guests gather in a perfectly manicured garden to celebrate Maggie and Len’s twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Maggie leans against the apple tree, watching her fun-loving husband and darling children as her heart swells with pride. As the joyful party atmosphere disappears into the night, close by, the lifeless body of a young woman is pulled from a river. Slipping upstairs to find the special gift for her adoring husband, Maggie stumbles across something else hidden amongst the dusty boxes of family keepsakes.

Great! Fast paced story and narration is amazing.
Revisado: 07-15-24
The narration is great the character development is pretty good as well. I would say though sometimes the plot seems a bit ridiculous as far as the motives of the characters. Also it became just a little predictable but not too much. I think if you are into these kind of mystery thriller books you would probably figure it out much quicker. But overall not bad and definitely not boring.

Narrator is good but story is slow to develop.

Beginning was okay, I did want to find out what happened but the interactions dragged on and really doesn’t add to the suspense or the main idea. I didn’t need to know how to dissect a body or the whole back story of the time they all met up to go skinny dipping in the pool. Nothing really interesting happens in the first 7 chapters. Idk the book is just not for me. I could not keep listening. I was bored and mind you I was working while listening. I can’t imagine just lying in bed listening to this.
