But when a dead body is discovered in her backyard, Mrs. Haggerty needs their help. At first a suspect, Mrs. Haggerty is cleared by the police, but her house remains an active crime scene. Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Great book
Revisado: 09-24-24
I usually don’t read fantasy, but I loved this book. I loved all the characters, especially Violet and Xaden. The dragons and their personalities were very entertaining. The storyline was very creative. The Narrator did a great job bringing all the characters to life. The second book is just as good. Waiting for number three!

Historia
Finlay Donovan and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero are in sore need of a girls’ weekend away. They plan a trip to Atlantic City, but odds are—seeing as it’s actually a cover story to negotiate a deal with a dangerous loan shark, save Vero’s childhood crush Javi, and hunt down a stolen car—it won’t be all fun and games. When Finlay’s ex-husband Steven and her mother insist on tagging along too, Finlay and Vero suddenly have a few too many meddlesome passengers along for the ride.

Boring
Revisado: 08-07-22
If you’re looking for a murder mystery, this is not the book. The murders are in the background and it’s no mystery. This is more a history of small town Georgia from 1920 to 1960, and it’s very predictable. The narrator didn’t help. Whether male, female, young, old, American or Irish they all sounded like an old man.

Dark and disgusting
Revisado: 05-22-22
I expect a book about a werewolf to have some guts and gore. What I didn’t expect was all the torture scenes. Men hanging from the rafters, gutted and cockroaches eating their insides. The author goes on and on with all the disgusting details. There were plenty of scenes like this. I don’t find this entertaining. Audible please give warnings about excessive violence. This was a two for one deal so I couldn’t return it. I tried fast forwarding but eventually I stopped listening because I didn’t care what happened. What a waste.

Good book, horrible narration
Revisado: 09-09-21
This was as a good story and I enjoyed learning about the Army Signal Corp. The Narrator unfortunately was not good. Her reading was very robotic. The main character, Ruby sounded like a robot. There was no emotion or personality. She made Ruby seem very cold and unemotional. I would suggest reading the book.
