Historia
In The War on the West, Douglas Murray shows how many well-meaning people have been fooled by hypocritical and inconsistent anti-West rhetoric. After all, if we must discard the ideas of Kant, Hume, and Mill for their opinions on race, shouldn’t we discard Marx, whose work is peppered with racial slurs and anti-Semitism? Embers of racism remain to be stamped out in America, but what about the raging racist inferno in the Middle East and Asia?

Read and understand the times in which we live
Revisado: 03-15-25
Murray has been documenting the decline of the West in each of his last three books. This one in particular systematizes the systemic, suicidal self-hatred of the West—by the West. If you want to understand the main currents driving the decline and dysfunction in Western societies, read Murray’s book. And enjoy his excellent reading as well, which are an enhancement to his cogent arguments and vivid prose.

Historia
This classic work of political theory and practice offers an account of the modern Machiavellians, a remarkable group who have been influential in Europe and practically unknown in the United States. The book devotes a long section to Machiavelli himself as well as to such modern Machiavellians as Gaetano Mosca, Georges Sorel, Robert Michels and Vilfredo Pareto. Burnham contends that the writings of these men hold the key both to the truth about politics and to the preservation of political liberty.

Realist Political Theory
Revisado: 02-19-25
Written in 1943 and still very relevant, as Burnham articulates the political theory of what he terms the Machiavellians. Insightful analysis that repays careful listening.

Historia
E. D. Hirsch, author of The Knowledge Deficit, draws on recent findings in neuroscience and data from France to provide new evidence for the argument that a carefully planned, knowledge-based elementary curriculum is essential to providing the foundations for children's life success and ensuring equal opportunity for students of all backgrounds. In the absence of a clear, common curriculum, Hirsch contends that tests are reduced to measuring skills rather than content, and that students from disadvantaged backgrounds cannot develop the knowledge base to support high achievement.

Outstanding
Revisado: 12-10-24
Hirsch provides an outstanding analysis of progressive education and its failures, despite being propagated with religious fever in Americans education schools. In its place, he argues that schools need to return to knowledge-based learning, the effects of which will be higher learning outcomes, increased equality of opportunity, narrowing of performance gaps between the affluent and impoverished populations, and greater national cohesion. While those who have worked and experienced these schools understand the superiority of knowledge-based learning, Hirsch explains why this observation accurately interprets reality.

America is on the brink of destruction. A corrupt and incompetent elite has uprooted our way of life and is brainwashing the next generation. Many so-called conservatives are as culpable as their progressive counterparts. In this ambitious and provocative book, Heritage Foundation President Dr. Kevin Roberts announces the arrival of a New Conservative Movement. His message is simple: Global elites—your time is up.

An informed, positive, humane, and spiritual vision to revitalize America
Revisado: 11-22-24
Roberts is not your typical think tank president. His understanding of the ordinary American’s experience, his insight into the problems they experience, and his informed proposals for how to rectify them and renew the American project make this a most important book.

Historia
In virtually every way that can be measured, Gen Z’s mental health is worse than that of previous generations. Youth suicide rates are climbing, antidepressant prescriptions for children are common, and the proliferation of mental health diagnoses has not helped the staggering number of kids who are lonely, lost, sad and fearful of growing up. What’s gone wrong with America’s youth? In Bad Therapy, bestselling investigative journalist Abigail Shrier argues that the problem isn’t the kids—it’s the mental health experts.

A much-needed book
Revisado: 06-22-24
Competently-researched, engagingly told, and desperately needed. Shrier’s book introduces readers to the therapeutic and pharmaceutical crisis facing rising generations, who have become over-sheltered, isolated, anxious, and depressed. It turns out that modern solutions to life’s perennial problems have not improved humanity’s plight, but made them worse. This book should be read by all, especially parents, pastors, physicians, and educators. We can only hope its common-sense conclusions find an ever-widening audience.

Historia
Through studious research into past civilizations, Burnham diagnoses the 20th century and finds it afflicted with destructive, even "suicidal" tendencies - all of which arise from the “Liberal syndrome” and its inherent applications. The book explores several important questions, including why Liberalism clashes with Christianity and how Liberalism is a root cause of race riots and the rapid growth in crime.

Cogent analysis of liberalism that remains relevant today.
Revisado: 10-06-18
Burnham’s Suicide of the West presents a cogent argument for liberalism as one of the expressions of the contraction (“suicide”) of the west. He presents his analysis of liberalism in its essential attitudes and beliefs from a variety of angles and with compelling prose.
While the book was written in 1964, it is still relevant in explaining the phenomenon of liberalism, what many would now call “leftist progressivism.” The present political situation in America is largely a result of the “liberal ideology” Burnham so expertly exposits in this book.
