Author made the reader feel that he was in the room with the terrorists, police, SAS and hostages. Outstanding work in juggling all sides of this dysfunctional situation.

Historia
Yonah Bob and Ilan Evyatar describe how Israel has used cyberwarfare, targeted assassinations, and sabotage of Iranian facilities to great effect, sometimes in cooperation with the United States. Even as it takes lethal action, Israel has managed to alter the politics of the Middle East, culminating in the Abraham Accords of 2020. Arab states such as Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates normalized relations with Israel, and the holy grail of normalization with Saudi Arabia may yet be achieved.

Well researched and written. Exciting, timely and topical given current events.

The ending of the book is a bit abrupt for my taste. But at least they didn’t try to explain too much.

Blackwater is one of the most misunderstood companies of our time. As Erik Prince, its founder and former CEO, writes: "Hundreds of American citizens employed by private military contractors, or PMCs, would lose their lives helping our government wage wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, only to have their memory tarnished by the unfair and/or ignorant depiction of PMCs as profiteers, jackbooted thugs, or worse."

Excitement of a novel with the underpinnings and background of a history book
Revisado: 07-05-24
I liked everything about this exciting novel. It gives a real glimpse into life during World War II life in Washington DC, while transcending the complex economic war against the Nazis. Kudos for also taking a glimpse of the admittedly small, but still benevolent efforts to help the survivors of the holocaust. Another great work by Graham Moore.

Hilarious old school British humor
Revisado: 02-02-24
Terribly funny old school British humor with plenty of diction eccentricity and malaprop. Of course the plot is ridiculous, but the reader really shouldn’t care. Just go with the patently absurd fun.

Historia
If anyone could be considered a Russian counterpart to the infamous British double-agent Kim Philby, it was Oleg Gordievsky. The son of two KGB agents and the product of the best Soviet institutions, the savvy, sophisticated Gordievsky grew to see his nation's communism as both criminal and philistine. He took his first posting for Russian intelligence in 1968 and eventually became the Soviet Union's top man in London, but from 1973 on he was secretly working for MI6.

Historia
Before Bill Gross was known among investors as the Bond King, he was a gambler. In 1966, a fresh college grad, he went to Vegas armed with his net worth ($200) and a knack for counting cards. Ten thousand dollars and countless casino bans later, he was hooked, so he enrolled in business school. The Bond King is the story of how that whiz kid made American finance his casino.

Great opportunity missed. Badly written and even more poorly read
Revisado: 06-05-23
There was a great opportunity missed as the Gross/PIMCO story was a historic chapter in American business. The writer is awful and her reading on her own work is even more miserable. This was a painful listen.
